Sega Net City vs link board (838-13816-91) info

I built the interconnect loom and have one of the 605-0031 harnesses, Do i need 1 more 605-0031 or do i need to build that 605-0032 harness? I cant find any documentation on how to build that harness. Thank you

Might as well post this here, so all the cables are catalogued:

These are for powering both link boards and the JVS IO in the slave cabinet. Super easy to make your own if you source the necessary AMP UP connectors and pins.

Do you already have the cable on the right from Nem's post above?

Do the people who have issues with CVS2 still have issues when doing the ghetto link with just daisy chained IO's and forgoing the link pcb?

Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out a plan for linking my Blast City and Naomi Universal cabs together for versus play, primarily on a Naomi 2 system (Netboot setup, MvC2 and others).

I ordered the JVS Link PCB (838-13816-91) but other than that am pretty much starting fresh. My Blast and Naomi Universal currently both have their own styles of JVS loom and can run the Naomi system without issues, but I'm unclear how to actually connect them together. I figured the 838-13816-91 PCB would be necessary, but after reading the thread I can see I need to make or buy some amount of wire harnesses.

I was going to have the Naomi Universal be the "primary" system that the Naomi 2 lives inside/is powered by, and figured the link PCB would go in there with the new cabling going to the Blast JVS connections (along with VGA for the monitor and RCA audio). Do I also need a second 838-13816-91 for that cabling to first connect up to, before connecting to the Blast loom? I gather from the documentation that what I'm trying to do wasn't specifically intended back in the day (linking Net Cities and Universals together was probably much more common than either of those and an older Blast).

Your only option is to get a jammafier for the naomi universal cab, and then buy sanwa chs-ts2 jamma VS harness, with a CAPCOM i/o or TD i/o to convert JVS to jamma. The blast city does JVS via any type of jamma io converter.

Oh, really? That seems like a lot of extra steps. I do have a Capcom IO in the Blast already to run JVS stuff, I guess I figured I could plug that into the 2P side of the link PCB.

Edit: I happen to have this random JVS Console board, perhaps it would be useful for what you're suggesting?

Edit 2: I think your suggestion would apply if I were trying to link JAMMA games, but I just want to link the Naomi PCB (JVS). I'm starting to think I should be able to simply run a USB cable from the slave port on the Naomi Universal IO to the JVS input on the Capcom IO inside the Blast, then use VGA and RCA splitters for the audio/video. That shouldn't need any special link PCB or link harness that way, right? Unless I'm missing something else here?

Edit 3: ah ha, just found this post that describes basically the same thing.

I moved the cabs and broke the USB PORT on one of the versus kits =-\
Its okay though i ordered more ports to solder. It worked for a round! LOL
