First time poster looking for help please?
I have a Sega New Astro City with a 400-5261X psu connected to what I believe is a stock stereo amp which has the number 421-8741 but seem to have a problem with the speakers.
I am currently running a Mistercade and the audio sounds fine then after a while there will be this sudden distortion/tearing sound which seems to come and go randomly.
I have tried the following to try to diagnose the problem but have had no luck so far...
- Disconnected the Mistercade and powered on.
- Visually checked the speakers, speaker wiring, amp wiring and other wiring.
- Turned off the ballast/marquee light (Read elsewhere this could cause a problem).
I also brought a multimeter and measured pins 1 and 4 on the JAMMA edge and then adjusted to read 5v with the Mistercade plugged in. Let me know if this is correct?
I seem to think that the problem might be with the stereo amp and find that it takes a while for the problem to occur.
I have 2 videos with the Mistercade in screensaver mode and also running SFA3 but not sure if I can post them on here.
I am a beginner and still learning about candy cabs so I would appriciate any help you can give me.
Hopefully I have not missed anything but please let me know if you need me to provide any additional information, thanks.
