What's new
For the programmable button mapper I am putting together, I am going with 1-2-3 as the default mapping, unless someone can convince me otherwise. Of course, it is programmable so you can set and save whatever layout you want and switch to them when needed.
Programmable you say? 1-2-3 sounds perfectly fine to me and definitely look forward to this. Hoping BladeZX will take a look at his Multip-Pi code to see if he could also do that with a direct connection to the Arcaniac adapter to set the jumpers when a game is loaded.

Finally got round to finishing my wish version of this adaptor 100% inspired by Franks design

and done, created a panel of two together so I could get the 45 deg chamfer on the fingers, a single board was too small to meet the jlpcb pre-requisite. The side pieces and boards easily snap off (v-cut).

Thanks, not bad for the first attempt at making a PCB on kicad. Yeah I should sell them really not like I need a pile of them, I need to order more switches first and I was going to 3D print some spacers for each side the same height of standard PCB feet

Shinobi:
manual: magic, attack, jump
Segla CP: magic, jump, attack
Button Order: 1, 3, 2
Disagree with this:
the manual shows the CP as "attack, jump, magic" (you need to go by the buttons on the right of the stick, not the left because we're not using mirrored left handed controls on modern cabs)
https://www.fabozzi.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Shinobi_Sega.pdf
Page 17 shows the CP image and page 24 shows the pin assignment
which corresponds to pin 9, 10, 8

Same as Altered Beast, Same as E-Swat

Every system 16 and system 24 game I've been able to find a manual or a picture of the control panel of has followed this button order
Button 1 = pin 9
Button 2 = pin 10
button 3 = pin 8

For old CPs with the pyramid button configuration the button on top is always button 3 (pin 8 ).

indeed even 2 button games uses pins 9 and 10 and do not use pin 8, and single button games only use pin 9.

Again this is consistent in every manual I've been able to hunt down and every original CP image I've been able to find. If you know of one that breaks this convention please pass along the manual or picture as I'd be interested to know..
