Sega Triforce with no video output when NetDimm is inserted.

Okay, so I recently bought a Sega Triforce and I am having some problems setting it up. When I insert a NetDimm into it (for netbooting), it gives me no video output at all. I am using a Corsair CX550 PC power supply for my setup, and I'm wondering if that could be the problem.

I also just got a Triforce type 1 and it’s been a pita to get working.

First step would be to confirm the net dimm works. Have you also tried reseating the ram in the net dimm? That has worked for me a few times.

I inspected the underside of the board, and one tiny component might have been removed.



But I still ended up testing it, and this is what I got: The two red LEDs on the side were on, I got an error code on the four front LEDs "Green Red Green Green", I have tried reseating the RAM, still gave me that error on the front, and I double-checked that it worked without the NetDimm and it did.
Any ideas on how to continue?

Do you see the scratch that goes through the PC77S marking and then through the right solder pad where clearly a component was removed? That scratch continues over the pins of that chip and even over the ceramic chip package. And as it seems at least two pins are bridged.

It looks like someone very crudely handled a solder iron, probably too cold and tried to remove that way that component by starting with that procedure way above (north) of the component, then finally getting to the component, continuing to drag the whole affair over the chip's pins and package. Ouch!

You should at least check with a multimeter if any pins on that chip are bridged and replace that ripped PC77S part. In that condition I wouldn't turn it on again to prevent further damage.

Little correction. I think he started with the pin and slipped upwards. And then again but now downwards over the pins and package.

Do you know what component the PC77S is? That would help me out a lot. For more information, if needed, my NetDIMM is revision A.

It's a small ceramic capacitor. Try a 100nf
