It's definitely tempting but I'm unsure if I might want to hold out for one with the tower design since I do really like the aesthetics of that one. I might take you up on that if I don't have any luck finding one though.

I have 2 gray ace towers I can set up with different upgrades depending on what your price range is. They have been refurbed / recapped but still have some quirks I can go into more detail about if you are interested.

I have a x68k ace hd that i had to take apart completely to fix but cant work out how to put it back together. Im like that. Cheap if u fancy it? Its all complete.

Keep an eye on yahoo auctions japan or one of the proxy sites like buyee. Check the seller feedback.

I got my X68000 EXPERT2 AC for around €400 then slow seamail shipping was another €50.

Price in a new psu, midi/ram combo expansion card, a scsi/sasi sd card adapter and possibly a master floppy all bought separately.

I picked up an x68000 XVI and most of the extras I was after but am still in need of a VGA adapter. I found a few adapters available but shipping to the UK looks to be quite slow for all of them. Would anyone have a spare or know of a good option available in the UK?

Rather than a vga adapter to utilise the x68k properly you should ideally need to find a autoswitching tri sync monitor. i can source you one if you like or if you still prefer a vga adapter i can buy one for you and ship it to you via express shipping if you like?

The reason is x68k games can switch resolutions on the fly like during cut scenes etc and if you are using one resolution you will get blank screen for some parts of the game.

At the moment I think buying another monitor is out of the question due to space constraints, but from what I've read it sounds like either an XPC-4 or OSSC Pro should do the job for me so that's the route I was planning to go. Where are you able to buy those VGA adapters from that has express shipping?

Actually, it turns out I have an adapter already that should work. I'll double check the pinout to be safe but I probably don't need to buy anything else then.

Sorry forgot to check for reply. You can use a xm29 (no plus model) (Grail) or FM towns Monitor (Uses sony pvm tube and not small and compact) or amiga microvitec monitor, all perfect solution for x68k although theu will need a modified x68k vga cable as the pinouts are different.

Not sure about the scan converters, i have never used them before. only organic for me

Also i didnt look as i wasnt sure what vga adapters you are refering too?? is it the x68k compatible device that converts signals?

The VGA adapter actually came with the XPC-4. That scaler works fine but the OSSC Pro has issues syncing unfortunately. It turns out that later revisions work correctly but I've got the 1st revision which requires a mod to process the sync correctly for the x68000.

Sounds like another CRT is probably not on the cards (due to space, etc) - but I do have a Microvitec monitor I was looking to move on. It's 14" - so fairly compact :)

Thanks for offering, but I think I really do need to keep a hard limit on having only 1 CRT until I have a bigger house. The D24 I've got is already too much by any reasonable assessment, and the house is becoming increasingly overcrowded by baby stuff.

No worries - I totally understand! I honestly never meant to end up with so many CRTs myself 😳
