Smart outlets?

What is the concensus on mobile outlets? Are they safe to use or can turning on power that way cause damage? I ask because I’ve been using them and in this past week I’ve had an Astro monitor go dark and a Gunbird 2 simply stop working. But for all I know it could just be correlation.

Yes, they're safe. The only thing that can break is the smart outlet itself.

Just chiming in here to confirm Gunbird does what Gunbird wants. By coincidence, I just popped in my Gunbird 2 PCB the other day to have a play, and it took several tries before it actually properly booted. Several times it would boot and my controls would be wonky, or the audio would be strange, etc. etc. etc. Eventually, it seemed to warm up and ran just fine. But yeah- it ran perfect when I played it last, and had been stored in a cool, dry place until a few days ago when I had an itch to play.
