I am having trouble with my Carrier Air Wing (CAW) conversion from an empty Street Fighter II: World Warrior (SF2:WW) boardset.
The good:
1. working "A" bottom logic board (sound, CPU, RAM, etc).
2. working "C" SF2:WW, with it's GAL replacement, CAPCOM security chip B-17.
3. empty "B" rom board 90629B-3 that is for SFII:WW.
4. Secondary, complete, working SF2:WW boardset that's been useful to test these components.
5. Complete working EPROM burner from 1997 that's my workhorse: XELTEK Superpro II.
The bad:
1. I have no idea about the EPROM jumpers and graphics chip order for this particular "B" rom board. In my searches I found a successful conversion of this same "B" rom board to a Ghouls 'n Ghosts and that has been my guide (link below).
My four HN27C4096G graphics eproms are in slots 5 (03), 6 (01), 7 (04), 8(02). My two HN27C4096G program eproms are in slots 33(22), 34(23). The ROMS from the link below are in the parenthesis.
EPROM jumpers: On the "B" rom board, I changed my ROM jumpers to match what I could see from online pictures. In the graphics/sound section SPJ has vertical jumpers in 1,4. VJ0 has vertical jumpers in positions 2,3. VJ1 has vertical jumpers in positions 2,3. Now in the program ROM jumper section PJ0 has vertical jumpers in positions 2,3 PJ1 has vertical jumpers in positions 2,3 PJ2 has vertical jumpers in positions 2,3 PJ3 has vertical jumpers in positions 2,3. The default position for all of these jumpers from the factory was 1,4.
I have tried to attach a picture of this in the thread, but I am getting a server error. I'll see if I can add it later (it is only 283KB).
2. Missing IOB1 PAL at location 11D on the "B" rom board. I have a GAL Lattice GAL16V8a as a replacement, but the online archives for the .JED files are seemingly incompatible with my burner's format. I hand converted them by adding the header from my good .JED, but no luck (years ago I was able to convert these to my older format but I seem to have forgotten). Here is the header from a good dump of the GAL for my working "C" in the correct format for my burner.

I also do not know what to do about the Carrier Air Wing "B" 1A .JED file in the archive (below) since it's for a different ROM board and is the key to these conversions.
So, I am a bit stuck after repairing this set back from the dead (soldering replacement components, jumper wire, etc). I am using this project as an entry point back into the hobby after years away. Carrier Air Wing is a tiny game I can make with my parts on hand and I remember it was fun.

The successful Ghouls 'n Ghosts conversion thread I am using for the ROM order and "B" board jumpers:
Hi my friends,
Recently i could get with this conversion of daimakaimura, its been converted from a Street Fighter 2 World Warrior.
Bought it as non working but in fact is working.
it shows the game, and the gameplay i think its not corrupt, but displays glitches or misinterpreted ones, no order, a chaos.
Can anyone give some tips what should/ shouldnt try ? i think the dip switches may be also wrong activated.
I very much apreciate any help.
