Hi everyone,
I am looking for someone with Namco System 12 / MAME debugging / reverse-engineering experience who could help investigate and possibly fix a gameplay bug in SoulCalibur.
The issue is related to SoulCalibur System 12 VER.C. Some moves / animations appear to be broken for Kilik and Seong Mina, and the same problem also affects characters that reuse their movesets, such as Edge Master and Inferno.
The clean reference I would like to compare against is VER.B, where the same characters behave correctly. The goal would be to identify whether the problem is caused by program code, command tables, moveset data, animation pointers, or another gameplay data structure, then produce a clean technical fix.
I am not asking anyone to share ROMs or copyrighted files in the thread. I can provide technical notes, logs, test results, MAME debugger findings, offsets, and comparison details. Any ROM-specific work can be discussed privately and handled only with legally owned material.
The kind of help I am looking for:
If this is not the correct section, please feel free to move the thread.
Thanks!
