Hello people
I'm trying to connect my new spinner to PC to test it with some games on MAME emulation

I have tried some GitHub sources but none of them are working properly.
SpinJoy is better version of those.

On the mame main menu, spinner looks works fine. Please check this video

but when i start the game " Forgotten Worlds " even without touching nothing , the controller start to turn. when i turn the spinner to opposite way, this time it will try to turn the other direction and never stops.

so i couldn't fix this problem.
what do you think ?

NOTE: This is not a rotary encoder spinner. It is real Arcade Version with Wheel.
NOTE 2 : it has same problem with other games too. "Arkanoid "

This is the firmware i have used.

That's interesting. I see that MAME gets it right, so the problem must be the game or how MAME interacts with it. Maybe the spinner can be configured differently and then it will be caught properly by MAME.

That's really interesting
On the main menu, i can see how it works perfectly.
But its acting different when you play the game.

Probably becaus the game is only prepared for a specific type of input spinner vs rotary switch.
Let me ping some experts ;) @nem @rtw

That's because it's working like a rotary encoder in a driving game. The main menu matches what you're seeing in the game. If you think of the spinner as a steering wheel it's working exactly like it's supposed to. Play some Outrun with it.

I don't really use Mame for playing games, so this isn't really in my wheelhouse, but I'll fire up Mame and see if there's a setting you're missing.

NOTE: This is not a rotary encoder spinner. It is real Arcade Version with Wheel.

They're the same thing.
