Hi all!
I have a Minigun 2.5 here and have finally got my Scart cable in to test it out. It is an 8 pin MiniDin (one of these).

It seems like there is some sort of sync issue, as any PCB I have tested (Tekken 1, NeoGeo 1F) seems to not be able to reliably sync and on top of that has a yellow/greenish hue to it that the pots on the Minigun seem to not be able to compensate for.

I did try my OSSC to see if it was the PVM, but that gave me no image at all.
I tested the continuity on my power cable, Scart lead, and Jamma edge, and all seem to be ok on that front.

I am thinking I just missed some small detail here and messed up ordering a cable.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me!

What PVM? Does it accept scart directly or is there another cable that converts to bnc? Without knowing any of that I’d just guess the ext sync setting/button needs a toggle and the pvm needs calibration.

My bad. I should've clarified. Its a PVM-14N6U.

I have a BNC adapter from wookiewin on eBay because it seemed reputable. It works for literally every other console on the PVM.

It’s connected with bnc to the pvm’s RGB and Ext sync inputs then? And you turned on ext sync?

I dunno, I’d be A/B testing to try to isolate any given item in the chain now. Obviously that’s easier if you have a modded nes or some other 8pin din output source, other cables, other monitor etc. It still could just be that you need to adjust the pvm in the menu, adjust the sync rate in there or something.

Does your BNC cable include a built-in sync stripper? You probably don't want that, as you want to just pass through the CSYNC signal from the minigun. (Might also explain why that cable works for other consoles?)

I checked the specifications of the BNC cable, and it doesn't appear to have a stripper in it.

So far, I was trying to reinforce my homemade power cable and when I plug the SuzoHapp supply I have into the Supergun after plugging a board in, the supply just makes a buzzing sound. I am guessing the next order of business would be to get a power cable and test the supply to make sure it's not ruined.

Does anyone sell just a Molex 6 Pin like the Minigun uses? I can get a crimper but i'd prefer if someone who knows what they are doing can make one. I'd gladly pay somebody!

It sucks because I just noticed on the Jamma edge that the pins that govern sync and all of that seemed to be bent out of shape as well.
