anybody have a good recommendation for a supergun?? Currently have a windy gaming and its ehhh.

HAS, Sentinel, and the third one from here I’m forgetting. EDIT: Parsec is the third one I was thinking of!

Also, the mini-gun is fine, I missed the link!

Basically I'd say this from my perspective. I've only owned the HAS from these forums and it has been 100% perfect in every way. You will be hard pressed to find ANY threads or questions dealing with problems with the HAS (that's not user error).

That being said, the members on these boards are awesome, and SGs from them here seem to be great purchases as well. People on A-P who make and sell them (or provide plans for them like the mini-gun) do the circuitry correctly, build them correctly, and provide support if shit goes wrong. That's why I would stick to one of these.

Just do a quick Google search on the Windy Gaming one and the problems it had with that SCART switch and how they kept blaming the switch guy and never fixed their product.. not the kind of customer support you want. Also, it's like double the price... yeeesh..

I use the retroelektronik one... it's fine. I saw this one for sale on that other forum...

I think the minigun looks nice, I might try that next if I get the urge to try something else.
Avoid the retroelektronik...

WHOOPS EDIT: Sorry, missed what the link was pointing too, mini-gun is good to go, but for @iGaroux 's needs, I'd say go for a full size one for the extra features (I know he has a lot of games!). Also, the last one I was thinking of was the Parsec, updated other post.

Avoid both of these SGs...
I know the retroelektronik one has reviews all over the map.
But why avoid the minigun?
@xtrasmiley or anyone else can you link me to the bad reviews for the retroelektronik? I haven't had any bad experiences with it myself... like it said it seems "fine"

I did notice that the built in voltmeter was a little off compared to using my multimeter at the jamma edge, but that could just be internal circuitry causing some fluctuation. it wasn't so off that the onboard voltmeter was irrelevant. I also use it with the scart connector and my friend currently has it hooked up to a monitor using the rgbs screwdowns, so in that sense I like how it has many options... And I like that I can plug my neo geo stick into it as a controller. I dunno, i wouldn't necessarily recommend it over something else... but I don't see anything wrong with it, and the price is pretty low.

Sorry, I was on the road and made a sloppy post. Update my posts. I think basically if you do a Google search, you'll find various complaints about it and some people reporting it having problems with certain PCBs. Also, I guess their quality control is an issue and you might have one better than the next one sold, never a good thing when dealing with your expensive games.

The SGs listed in this thread won't have those problems. Here is a quick link to a thread about problems with the retroelektronik, but I will be honest, I've never owned one myself.

Retroelectronik Progamer Controller short? [Solved]

anybody know the pin out for the windy gaming? Would It be the same as the neo geo omega?

Careful with the windy, if you run it without audio attenuation it has been known to blow out gear (like the gscartsw). I don’t know if anyone here would recommend it, certainly not for the price or quality.

I've got some v1.6 minigun pcb's if you want to build one of those

I own a 2x HAS, a Sentinel, a Parsec and a retroelectronik progamer.

Avoid retroelectronik...

I can assure you that the HAS, Sentinel and Parsec are all great. Of these, the Parsec is probably the easiest to get right now.
