I'm completely stumped here. The setup is a SYS2X6 dongle with System 256, hooked up to an NNC. Dip switch settings off/on/on/on.

Most information is in the title -- when I boot to the test mode (on/on/on/on) everything works as expected. When I switch back to game mode, the game boots but I get no video. I can coin up and get other responses, so I assume the game is working.

Any ideas?

Edit: 5 minutes later I learn to double check the 246/256 jumper before posting threads.

Yup—got me a few times too! That Google excel sheet should have a note on if they are 246/256 but it’s annoying to remember for sure each game. Maybe record it on the discs with a sharpie? That might help! Glad it was an easy fix!

So now I ask, are there any games worth playing on this platform (stick and button) that aren't fighters? I bought it mostly for Tekken and SC, as I imagine many do.

Do you have no video signal or the disc pairing dongle failed? If there is no video signal, check if you set the switch to 3off&4off and connect a monitor with a vga interface.

If the optical drive is not plugged in or the IDE interface is not plugged in, it will display like this

If the dongle verification fails, turn on the phone and adjust the speaker volume to the maximum, you will hear
DING DING DING
Next is GGGGGGGG........
