I just want to put this out there. The reason why E2s are so pricey is due to the fact that Taito destroyed a whole lot of them years ago for a tax writeoff. Spare parts have now been bought out from Taito company a couple of years ago. Not long ago a NOS illumination panel sold for over 700 USD. These cabs are mostly for collectors not so much the casual player.
If you want just one can it's nice to have cause one person can rotate themselves, but parts are very expensive to replace. Viewlix cabs will eventually drop heavy in price and then maybe in 20 years start to spike again. But only after Taito destroys over 75% of them. I can get cabs pretty cheap but even for me an E2 is an expensive option. If a seller wants to ask X amount, then so be it, no need to complain what it's worth compared to another cab, a CRT cab vs a LCD cab is like apples to oranges really.
Every cab has its place, if you don't care for it, just leave it alone, someone will want it. As for me? I'm all about Sega cabs now, most of my cabs are Sega now and I'd never try to hunt down others unless it was a Pony or some other oddball cab I could scoop for a decent price.
