WTB Taito F2 Motherboard

Want To Buy
Good luck with search. The smaller mobo is very difficult to find and finding any of them usually requires buying an entire rom and mobo set. Not cheap either.

Apparently the smaller board can have sync issues on a tri-sync cab.

My friend's new net city had issues with the small board, but the large motherboards had no sync issues.

I had sync issues with certain games, namely Liquid Kids, regardless of MB type but this was resolved my changing out the capacitors on the rom board and checking for any dry joints. This was only on supergun, worked fine on a Toshiba trisync.

You will probably be better off looking on Yahoo Japan for this. Most people that own one will have it paired to a ROM board. I've seen a bunch of auctions where the seller splits his ROM boards and sells the motherboard separately. That's how I won my long board recently.

Do you have a preference for a long board or a short board? Usually the long ones are the ones that pop up.

I don't know. I would think theoretically both boards would work with most ROM boards. But I have heard certain games don't like certain boards. I have a Don Doko Don ROM board that does not behave well with my short board, but works fine on my long board. My Cameltry ROM board works fine on both short and long. What ROM boards do you have on hand? A safe bet is to go by the year of your ROM board. If you have an older ROM board go for the long board. If your ROM board is newer go for the short board.

Do you care if small or large board? I have a Runark I could part with that has the smaller MB. Seems more have popped up on YJA lately than before. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the next one.

I dont care so consider me interested. I am curious about the above now regarding sync issues. Is there a thread on that regarding tri syncs?
