Thanks. I keep seeing HDD with just USF4 on ebay. Do you think these have the 2P option in the test menu or were the multis changed to have that setting added?

That I don’t know, but you could set Niko’s X2 multi to auto boot into USF4 always, until you tell it otherwise.
Of course, you need to change out the fans. There are a few threads on here regarding this. Just do a quick search.Is there a way to make taito more silent? It makes so much noise as a 1980s vacuum cleaner

Pretty sure there is just 1 fan in there to replace. I honestly haven't fired them up in ages. I just netboot the AW games on the naomi and play them that way.
Many atomis players agree that's impossible to replace by another fan...to make the system quieter
I take that as a challenge, let me crack one open and see what's what
