Un update on the sprites issues: removing the chips (except j4) does not change any difference in the game which is also starting. So I think that there is a fault in the ic's around them.
Meanwhile I'm recreating on a breadboard the faulty tjr-001 which has on its custom pcb carbon tracks that are not solderable. Originally the pins had some clips pressing on each side of the pcb.
