Does anyone have the cable for the DC in and card reader for a System 357? I have made the DC in part of the cable but now need the card reader cable part. Can anyone provide details or sell me the cable?

Thanks, I had looked at this before but the problem always comes back to which pin number corresponds to the header on the System 357 and the socket from the card reader cable. It might just follow the same pinout as the System 256 arrangement - I don't want to be sending 12V anywhere it shouldn't be going.

I would of thought the pin numbers as per the diagram are in accordance with a datasheet or something for the connector/header.

Unless someone else jumps in first i've got a cab with Tekken 6 and a 357, ill need to have a look to see if the loom is there for the card reader, if it is ill take pictures of either end and that should sort you out.

Here you go, pictures and captions should suffice in conjunction with the wiring diagram

Thanks that’s very kind of you, I think that should do it. I only have the one player panel with card reader. If you know which side 1 player is on the 10 pin JST connector, that would save me flipping a coin to decide which side of the connector to trial wire up first.

Just noticed that the actual wiring doesn’t quite match the Tekken 6 manual wiring diagram. No problem on the side, if it goes player 2 side I will just switch it over.

Thanks again.

? it does

The wires go to the corresponding pins as per the manual you can verify it in the images just looking at the colours. The wiring diagram is a bit confusing as you have a single row 7 pin connecting to a 2 row 10 pin so the numbers aren't in sequence.

If you follow the red wire, according to the Tekken 6 schematic P1_TXD goes from pin 3 on the card reader and then goes to pin 1 on the header which is labelled P1_RXD. P1_TXD is pin 3 on the header so something has gone a miss on the labelling. I trust the photographs of the wiring and not the manual labelling.

Ok, so I managed to wire up the 10 way connector (had one of these in my spares) in the first photo but unable to find anything suitable for the 7 way male connector in the second photo. That connector housing is going to be a challenge to find.

That's correct its a serial connection between the two devices
TX > RX
RX < TX

transmit and receive pins are opposite from one another.

Unfortunately as with alot of arcade gear and the vast array of connectors you'll probably have to get that from RS or somewhere similar, JST PA 7P female.
