I was going through sold listings on YJA and stumbled across this box, does anyone has some idea what this is?

機種 translates to "model" or "type of equipment." I'm not sure what CBC would mean. The CPS2 Wikipedia page has the names of all the games in Japanese, but I don't see anything that could obviously be abbreviated CBC.

that (Capcom Battle Circuit) could make sense but I dnt think capcom added "C" to any game code, the serial # is odd, cps2 serial# are 9 digits (this has 8 ) unless capcom didnt put first "0" of the serial # on the box, someone who has cps2 b board boxes can may be confirm. Box also looks bit thinner than the examples online:
