I have a Time Crisis 4 DX that was originally projector-based and has been converted to Wells-Gardner LCD monitors.
Both guns calibrate successfully, and the crosshair appears in the calibration menu. However, the crosshair is very jittery on Player 2, while Player 1 also shows some jitter, though noticeably less.
All IR sensors have been checked and appear to be functioning properly. The game is playable, but the aiming feels inaccurate and unstable.
I attempted to lightly sand the front of the gun optic board, but this did not improve the issue and may have made it worse.
Overall, the cabinet functions correctly, but gun accuracy is off, and the crosshair is not stable.
I've attached videos showing the issue for both Player 1 and Player 2.

Player 1

Player 2

Any help is welcome

The working principle of a light gun relies on the display signal on the screen. Modern displays (LCD/LED) use a different scanning method than traditional CRTs, which can easily lead to compatibility issues.

1. Enter the Wells-Gardner LCD monitors settings options:

1. Change the monitor's refresh rate to 60Hz;

2. Adjust the display mode to game mode.

If the problem persists, please continue:

1. Enter test mode and reset the light gun calibration;

2. Check for loose connections in the cables.

Good luck

will do in the morning and post update.

@andymage I tried the setting, the LCD was already on 60hz and it does not have a game mode option.

it an arcade LCD here are some pictures of the menu and type of LCD I'm also using a GBS 8200 converter board.

andymage is talking nonsense, there's no correlation with using an LCD on an IR grid based light gun game to any aiming issues you may have. I will say that the jittery crosshairs seem to be normal in test mode, other videos of people calibrating their own machines will show similar behavior and the machine I have access to does the same, the technology doesn't have any sort of optical stabilization. If you were to have issues such as a rolling, skewed or completely misaligned crosshair your gun's wiring harness would be most likely at fault, either the connector on the sensor module or wires fraying down the line.
