Hi
I’ve been trying to repair a TC4 cab which had one working side. The other side would boot but crash on loading screens. I narrowed this down to the drive but swapping parts between the cabs.

Working side had a WD 40GB drive and other is Samsung 80GB drive. I purchased a matching WD 40GB drive to clone the working side.

I had someone clone the drive with dd but now they both come up with Exception 0x2 error. Have I messed up the working drive?

Is there anyone who can make a couple of new drives for me in the UK?

The cabs have LCD displays using vga to hdmi converters. Not sure if that means the drives would have been modified for widescreen?

Thanks for any help

Can I create a backup of the HDD I'm cloning from?
It's easy: connect the HDD to your Windows PC via USB and use
HDD Raw Copy Tool Portable 1.20.
(This will create an .imgc file.)

I was under the impression you could not use windows to image or clone the drive?

If the HDD has a special format, the contents will not change even if it is connected to a Windows PC. If you are worried, it is a good idea to create a clone and back up from there.
When you connect it to a PC, it will ask you if you want to format it because it is an invalid drive, but please decline.
