Two Namco System 11 motherboards with different problem.

Hi! :)

I just found 2 complete Tekken 1 motherboards in a box :)

The first card has the following problem, it goes into the Setup menu automatically, even with the 2 dipswitches in the other position, and with the block command on High, it scrolls in a loop ?(.

And on the 2nd motherboard I have a black screen, no power boot X/

Question for the first motherboard, can it come from a 74hc253D :?:

I bought a Tekken Tag board that did the same thing. It would randomly go into test mode. No idea what it could be the board looked great.

Question the component from TDK is an Emi filter ?

Can it come from that ?

one probe on ground, then check each input/output to see if there is a shortcircuit.
meter set to resistance setting
then repeat with 5v instead of ground.

A first motherboard repair, with the problem of direct bios access and automatic scrolling in the menu.

I found the culprit circle in red :D
I gradually desoldered the four ,74HC253 and the last one was the bad guy lol.

I don't have to solder the components in the same order :P



On the other hand the pakage and type D and really too small circle in blue, really limited, because the pins do not touch the pads.
The package is type A, I can't find it on the net or on Aliexpress ;(

it's the japanese, their soic packages are wider than standard.
i have had this problem but usually if you take the bend out of the legs with small pliers you get just enough extra length to reach the pads.
 
Hi! :)

I managed to repair the second motherboard :thumbsup:

I first changed the 74HC253 to locate 11M the card to boot but to block at the start-up color bands of the bios =O


After I changed the 11L
the game and switch to bios mode instantly with a crazy scroll like the other :S
After I changed 11K the game started but with a loud thump of noise like the sound of snow on old TVs, and no command control either 8|

then change of 11J and everything is ok :thumbup:
