For the last 15 years, it's been mostly been used with my MAME setup where 15khz is the norm (JPAC, ArcadeVGA and then ATOM-15 firmware on ATI video card all running GroovyMAME) I never had a chance to try 24khz.

Ah okay, because you mentioned Naomi 2 in your post, I assumed you use it with Naomi, ideal candidate for 24khz!

I mainly use the UVC for 24khz Naomi downscaling. But I do find that the 2D games on the Naomi are best run at 15khz. CVS2 for example looks a lot better in native 15khz output than downscaled 24khz.

The 3D games are beautifully downscaled to 24khz but to my eyes the 2D sprite games are better looking at 15khz.

I have a friend who owns multiple Blast City cabs with the trisync monitors. I've never been a fan of 15khz on a 31khz CRT - it's too sharp for me; looks like an emulator or LCD sharp.
