hello people, I’m coming to you for help with my Target Terror Gold
I acquired it some week ago, first, the PC was not posting (nothing on screen). Changing the CMOS battery fixed that issue the PC is posting however I get the blue screen of death with the error code :
0x0000007b, INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE, so I tried the recovery disk, it went well but at boot same thing. I decided to buy another IDE hard drive and retry the recovery but to no avail even with the new drive I got the same error message. After more inspection of the PC, I realized that the USB dongle was broken, the picture posted below. I connected the dongle to my PC and it is recognized so I glued it and think the dongle is ok so I’m at a loss, I ordered a new dongle but now I think it is not the problem. I have the recovery disk 1.34U. I tried a new ribbon cable same issue. the motherboard and everything else seems to work fine. at this point my hypotheses are

my conclusion: any software installed that is not at least the minimum software required will result in a boot error.
also, some of the TTG are windows some are linux.

I will install the PC in the cabinet tomorrow for now

My guess is motherboard issue.

The dongle shouldn't stop it from booting.
 
Yes, that is correct but it's very specific between motherboards. The software is not universal. I have been messing around with TT HW for about a month straight now. Been in contact with betson regarding parts and software versions.

I will look for a new RAM today, I was reading that chart the minimum software is 2.14 the disk I have is 1.34 could that cause an issue?
 
Yeah, that's what I was getting at. Did it come with that disc or did you get that separately? What's the whole story here? Is it a conversion, kit, or dedicated? Got pics of the whole setup? I'm no expert but like I said I've been going through this for a month straight and these TT's can be a real bitch.
 
For example I have a 1.54lin setup that was a kit and purchased dead. I got it back up and running but will only work with 1.54lin and freezes. Managed to get 1.08b working flawlessly on it but that's vanilla not Gold. I have tried every version of the software with it between win and linux. Even have another TTG setup arriving tomorrow that I believe is on 1.34u.
 
I bought it from an operator, it is not a conversion in the cab I found 2 disks 1.34u is the lastest version so I thought i will use this one, now I'm thinking I need to try the second recovery dvd. I reached out to betson they are reaching to sega but I got impatient so I got a new dongle and will have 2 and probably not the issue, Anyone has Version 2.12.LIN ????

I have pretty much all the versions, they're on archive.org as well. If you have a spot to upload it I can. I'd try 1.08b just to see if you can get it going as that looks like a TT vanilla cab.

well I guess I'm getting some dvd and trying when I get home. I will do the 2nd disk I have , then 2.14 and finally 1.08b
 
I am getting a Target Terror machine on Thursday. Is there any means of upgrading it to Gold?
