I have been playing Steam version of USF4A for ever.. the PC version graphics wise wins.. if you are to put the PC on a viewlix 720p monitor, I take the X3 anytime. Once, we get 32" 1440p Gsync monitors in Vewlix them it will be a different story. I can not comment on joystick input lag because I can not tell anything below about 36ms.

To me -
SFA3 CPS2
USF4A X3
SFA2 CPS2
SSF2 turbo CPS2
HSF2 CPS1
SF3 3rd CPS3

Sure they do, they can actually last nearly a full minute of play against a top level player. In SF3 you quickly understand how top level players are almost god like and control the match from the word "fight". ;)

Eurogamer: Ono Street Fighter III Scared-off Gamers

Street Fighter III closed off Capcom's brawling franchise to all but the most experienced players
Cool story but means absolutely nothing. Play what you like. Nothing is better than the other in fighting games.

Well I think what Ono is trying to say is they catered exclusively to hard core fans with 3.
That alienated casual or new comers, which in a way helped to bury the series.
With 4 they wanted to bring new people back into the series, and they couldn't do that by continuing to please only the hard core.

My point (which you say means absolutely nothing) was...

"Lots of folks like SF4 more than 3S"

That is a correct statement, and it's no coincidence as it was designed to be that way.

That's also what Ono said about SFV. That mindset is flawed and the results prove it. They said it about DBFZ too. The truth is, no matter how easy a fighting game is, a casual is going to get blown up by more skilled players. On the flip side, if two casuals are playing 3S, they'll have just as much fun as playing SFII, IV, or V. So the elitist attitude that "3S is better because it has higher execution" is stupid. If that were true, all the top 3S players should have remained on top in SF4, which wasn't the case. Admittedly some quit playing after 3S because they didn't like the system in SF4. That is their choice to not like the game. But indirectly dismissing top players in SF4 and 5 because the game is "easier" is disrespectful.

As for burying the series, there are more factors than "too difficult for me to beat Daigo." I'd wager that limited returning characters and a delayed home release contributed to that. It was also still in 2D when the hype was 3D at the time.

I'm not suggesting top level players of 4/5 are unskilled, I'm sure I would get beaten by them easily.
What I'm suggesting is top level players of 4/5 don't have as much total dominance as top level players of 3 had because the game isn't structured that way.

Newcomers didn't like the feeling of being dominated in a way where they couldn't even land a single hit.
"22 hit super combo? thats cute, I think I'll perry the ENTIRE THING"
Again it propped up top players like gods, totally approachable/unplayable/unenjoyable unless you already had some (serious) skills.

Well honestly it's still not in 3D, even with 4/5.
It's what most people refer to as 2.5D, aka 3D graphics from a fixed 2D perspective.
Can you side-step/free walk around the stage? So is it really "3D"? ;)

It's a common idea in the FGC. The counter to that, is that there are simply more people playing the games due to accessibility (installed base of consoles, online play, the rise of tournaments, youtube, twitch) and plethora of information on the internet. More people = less gods. There is new blood with every release. Compared to Smash Melee which never sees a new release and hence, gods remain. I find this more plausible.

To Derick2k = Did a dongle is necessary to run the USF4 conversion?

Can you please tell me if there is a dipswitch on TTX3 to change the resolution like on the TTX2 mobos ?

Thanks

Yes, dongle is needed which is paired with the HDD.
If you ever pick up a TTX3 without HDD and Dongle it is useless as they are paired with the Bios

Thanks Pascal ;)

I was wondering if it was possible to create a HDD multi on a TTX3 mobo but if the HDD is paired with the bios this is way to complicated for me
