This cab lives in a record store. I'll be there later today, and I told the owner of the cab I'd take a look at it. I was told this happened while in the middle of playing, and it used to be fixable by wiggling the JAMMA harness. Here are some old pictures:

I was told that it was just one monitor that was bad, but looking at those pictures my friend sent me, those are two different sides of the cab. Wiggling the JAMMA harness being a temporary fix makes me think it might be an issue with the harness. I was thinking of bringing the MS9 remote board from my Versus.

I'm getting real time updates as I write this post. My friend says that usually only the monitor in the first picture is a problem.

I'll know when I see it later. I just wanted to throw this post up to get some ideas. Thanks.

We met up to play and the monitor was white again. I tried adjusting the flyback and the remote board, but no luck. Couldn't get it to look even slightly normal. When the screen was made darker, the colors smeared across the screen.

My friend (the owner of the cab) touched a flathead to the remote board brightness pot after the plastic bit on the pot had fallen off. The monitor shut off instantly. We drove back to my house to grab my remote board. After hooking mine up, the monitor turned on for a second or two (it looked very white) before shutting off again. When I hooked up his broken remote board again, it smelled like something was burning. That seemed like a good point to stop.

I figured the next step is to recap the chassis. Getting the thing out while laying on my back inside the cab seems very difficult. Probably a better idea to remove the whole monitor first, but that's a lot to do at a record store during business hours. Might have to temporarily relocate.

Let me know what you think.
