I think I'm going crazy.

I'm a first timer working my through configuring a Vewlix F cab for 2 players (2J16P config). I know I need the custom I/O board (Arthrimus or Hadouken, I got the latter) and I know I need two Brooks (or equivalent) that connect to those to split the loom pins up and make USB possible on two distinct outputs (I'm playing on PC). That all makes sense.

My understanding is that G loom needs to carry all the inputs for the 2J16P part however and this is where I fall apart

The thing I can't wrap my head around is how in the year of our lord 2026, do folks connect the 2P buttons (and 1P's 8 button) to the loom? Do the I/O boards somehow circumvent this? As part of getting the I/O board, I have some extra 2.8mm females (for the buttons) that map to a 4 pin JST that plugs into the Touchpad/Home/Select input on the I/O board, but but as I understand, that's in addition to the loom. My hiring harness is standard and has the wired J and L and an empty female K. Do I have to wire the 2P buttons and stick into a 12 pin male AMP that plugs into the K harness and then add the extra connections from J and K into the loom or am I missing something stupid? I don't mind doing the cutting and crimping but... well I don't want to

Sorry folks, I tried wading through to find the answer in old threads, and I'm sure I missed it

fwiw, the answer for me was learning to follow traces and learning to crimp. JTS and .110 isn't so bad.

Welcome!

So the question was how to avoid crimping a ton of wires and looking up pinouts? I bought my Vewlix 20-pin input harness from Lemony Vengeance. He's been less available recently, so I bought my last harness (a JAMMA loom for an Astro) from a French maker called Japan-Arcade on Ebay.
