WTB WANTED: Forgotten/Lost Worlds Spinners

Want To Buy
1 spare is not hoarding....its simply ensuring that you sleep well at night. :D

I have a backup Qbert stick, a couple backup SNK rotary's, a backup 19" for my roadblasters cockpit, several backup A68KJU tubes for my Ms9 chassis, hell...I even recorded the rare vinyl records to the computer, just so I knew theyd be there in some format.

Call me overprotective, call me a hoarder, call me paranoid.....just don't call me unprepared. Lol.

i bought a extra set of NSS controls just in case I ever break mine for $60. I was a very good deal since one set just went for $299. I might never use the spare but it will be their when i need it. I need to find a spare banana joystick now that I think of it....

If these spinners ever get reproe'd I'm down for a pair, I have the FW pcb but I have never seen the spinners again since I sold the only one I had, years ago.

They usually do on yaj nowadays. I already gave up on this. I wanted to make repros to offer to the community. I was going to incur all the cost, had people lined up to do the manufacturing, etc...my original thought was to maybe make a set of 50-100 units to sell basically at cost. Got close to getting some of these, but I’m just not gonna jump through hoops to get them.

@Derick2k
I'm still bumping my WTB thread on KLOV every other day, trying to get one for this. I'll keep doing it till I find one. Once I get my hands on one, I'll send it your way. It'll be a while, but I have faith someone will step up.

Thanks bro, if it pans out, I can definitely get repros made, even if its a small run. No rush on my part though, plenty of other projects to do still :) .

What am I sitting on with this panel? Aside from the knob being slightly aesthetically different and quick connnects for the US version, looks very similar to what is posted here on KLOV. Even uses the same optoboard.

Those are Arkanoid spinners on your panel. It lacks the button switch for pressing the spinner down, used for shooting in Forgotten worlds. You can see the microswitch at the bottom of the FW's spinner housing:

All the other nibblets are the same. So if the only thing is missing is the pushdown button motion. That can be facilitated by a spring on the shaft and a longer shaft that extends through the plate to contact the leaf switch. An analog of the leaf switch can be fabricated.

Movement is greater than perfection. Too expensive to be perfect. But if you want to just play the game, probably the best way to get there is to mod these spinners?

One thing I would like to see reproe'd more than the actual Rl. switch is the sub-board for Ultimate Echology/Eco Fighters, only man on earth that I know with one of these is Shou.

The supply for those repro kits is long time gone, then the people who made them is not around anymore, whoever who is going to repro the spinners will need someone active to make new batches of these sub boards first, because Forgotten Worlds is fine, buuut Eco Fighters is the better game.

What's different about that board compared to the spinner board for Puzz Loop? I see the Puzz loop ones for sale often for < $20

Also I'm planning on (eventually) building a Forgotten Worlds panel but instead of the Capcom push spinner I'm going to use a normal Taito Spinner and put a button on the joystick.

having played Forgotton worlds on an original panel the whole push the spinner to shoot mechanic is really clumsy and not very fun IMO. it would be better served to have a button separate from the spinner and having it on the stick makes way more sense to me.
Not to mention it takes this from a $1500 project to a $200 project.

FWIW I am still looking for someone to let me borrow a Capcom Spinner so that I can 3D model the parts and see how much of it we can get repoed.
