Hello All,

This is my first time trying to do any sort of work with a CRT, so apologies in advance for any rookie mistakes. I bought a Sammy Atomiswave SD Candy Cab not too long ago that had a dead monitor. I was able to find a Wells Gardner D9800 that fit perfectly and with a bit of configuration, taking it out the American style frame primarily, I got it to sit in the AWSD. My plan is to run it off a Mistercade V2 through Jamma, but I think the harness needs to be replaced. Once I got it in, on my first startups I was receiving a “Over Range” message from the Mister. After a few attempts at configuring the .ini files, the monitor stopped receiving signal entirely. Now I only get a blue and black “NO SIGNAL IN” message when I start up. I have ordered a new Jamma harness, and hope that fixes things. I am concerned that something is wrong with the monitor too though as I saw someone on another forum post about a similar issue, but their “No Signal” screen was red and white. I guess my question is are these errors consistent with a bad Jamma harness or does it seem like I have larger problems to worry about with the monitor?

Thank you all in advance

I am not familiar with the MiSTer video outputs, but no one else seems to have lent some info. When using the D9800 with a signal in any other form than 15/25/31kHz, it has a fit. If the MiSTer is outputting something else to begin with (as is frequently an issue with Batocera based PC setups) it'll stay mad until powered down and back up with the correct signal. To combat that, on my D9800 multi-cab, I put a timer relay between the PSU and the monitor. It wont power on until 30 sec. after the rest of the cabinet. That gives the PC time to get past the BIOS screen and in to the actual 31kHz mode.

Hope that helps!
