I don't have an account with Sendico, so I don't know how to source one from Yahoo auctions.

This is the supergun I have. I think it's a Sigma AV5000/AV7000 but I am not sure, I've included the pinout manual. My friend ordered it for me, but it didn't come with a harness. He moved away to a different state, so I can't have him get stuff for me anymore.

I would really like to get this up and operational, so I need a harness. Sadly, I got it in March of last year and just slept on it. Now, I have some boards I want to use that don't work with the mini gun I have, so I have a use for this now.

please help, or if you have a 2 player super gun you would like to sell i might be interested

You have a AV7000.

japan-arcade offers a harness for a very high price https://www.ebay.com/itm/175422345711
There's someone on YAJ that also offers a variety of different harnesses as well. You can use services like Buyee or Dejapan to purchase auction listings. It's not that difficult when using those services. https://buyee.jp/item/search/seller/zIpbMhURv1eey1aL%2Fj9L7Q==

If you have a minigun supergun already, I'm not sure how an AV7000 will be able to run something that the minigun couldn't.

i found japan arcade on ebay and i messaged them, but like you said they are costly. the super gun i have i think is more specifically for neo geo so it doesn't work with my midway nba jam pcb.

Neo Geo generally follows the JAMMA standard (except for sound).

The Minigun should work with a NBA JAM pcb just fine. The only incompatibility I can think of is that Midway boards tend to use -5V for sound, so if you PSU you're using with the Minigun doesn't have -5V, you would lose sound for that. IIRC Midway boards also tend to be power hungry, so if the PSU you're using with the Minigun is very weak, that could also be the issue.

hi there, thanks for replying. I haver the BBS Shogun Supergun and the PSU I am using is one made by Retro Arcade US which looks just like this one but different branding. but I just took my meter and I measured the -5 rail and its only doing -4.25ish so if I use the adjustment pot i can get it max of -4.7 but then it takes the 12v and makes it 13.8v or somewhere around there. I definitely do not want to plug that in for fear of destroying my midway pcb lol

can you recommend a psu that will do the job? I'm not sure if its not reaching the full -5v for the sound to work if thats the issue cuz it did work when it was in the cabinet with a much older psu, same style but definitely old.

and when i use the neo geo cd rom controller i have *which works with neo geo* it does not work with nba jam.

I've got one I can sell. It's from hkmtnx on YAJ and it has a CPS1 kick harness. Holler if interested.

When you say minigun I assume you were using the open source minigun project by frank_fjs

I'm not familiar with with the shogun, but it should work more or less the same. The power supply you're using isn't great, and people (at least on this forum) tend to go for a known reliable brands like Meanwell instead. The RT-85A is a fairly popular choice.

While you're measuring voltage, I would make sure +5V is correct. That is by far the most important to get right.

my +5 is spot on, my -5 isn't and like i said with the pot i adjust to fix the -5 it also messes up the 12v so yeah, i have a meanwell psu not that version that u mentioned a more expensive one QP-150-3A and the adapter board for jvs power, but that one the 3.3 rail i think is under. i have no luck w/ these damn psu's lol

Another thing to consider: What monitor are you connecting to?

Midway boards run at a unusual refresh rate (53hz), which will mess with a lot of modern displays. If you're going from something like SCART to OSSC to LCD, this would likely not work due to the refresh rate. You would need a scaler like the Retrotink 5x or 4k that can account for this. A lot of analog displays will probably work just fine, but not always.

I'm out of ideas otherwise.

So I have both, OSSC and i think a retrotink 4k, thats teh cheaper of the 2 right? i could go look but it's in a closet somewhere atm lol but anyways, i was able to diagnose my issues today and i was able to successfully connect the 1 slot mvs to my jamma setup in my vewlix.

but that also answers your question, its connecting to the oem monitor on the vewlix which doesn't support that refresh rate. so i am SOL there, i am happy I got neo geo to work as that was my #1 concern at the moment, but the midway pcb said out of range when i tried on the cab. i pulled it from an old double dribble cab that was converted to nba jam so i know it all works its just the monitor took a shit and the wood was all water logged from flooding and i just tossed it. im waiting for the unico nova blast to be readily available and they said nba jam works with their setup. so for the moment that board is on standby.

Yeah if you're using a modern display without a scaler that can accept uncommon signals, that is more than likely the problem, especially since you can get other boards to work. Assuming the NBA Jam itself didn't some how break since you last saw it working of course.

The OSSC almost certainly won't work since it's a line multiplier. The RT4k will work, but is very expensive ($750). The RT5x might work, but I don't know since I don't have any Midway boards. You would need to do your own research on that.

The Unico Blast might work, but I will give a major buyer beware warning about that company. Customer service is abysmal, they regularly overshoot deadlines and overpromise features, and many of the (much delayed) Nova Blasts currently coming into customer hands are arriving damaged, with slow response since they can't even manage basic email correctly. The Nova Blasts use a different monitor, but the predecessor (ULM26) has major issues that are not fixed after nearly 2 years, even after they charged customers for replacement display boards that supposedly fixed all issues.

oh yes, i know about their shenanigans. fully aware and i have complained lots on their fb page. they were very responsive in december now they aren't responsive at all, and when they do answer "no one could've predicted the shipping delays" i mean you give a bold statement saying all preorders will be delivered by eoy 2024 and now we're almost in feb 25 and still no clue on to when the rest will be fulfilled. i knew damn well what i was getting into so we'll just have to wait and play it by ear.

using the ossc i was able to display a picture on my oled tv, but i couldnt get sound working, and i hear you're not supposed to use say an ossc to the taito encoder to the monitor for too much signal loss or something. its been a shit show for certain lol
