I'm still new to the whole arcade scene and have only basic knowledge of electronics, so have picked up a couple of boards to practice repairs on. Had some luck in the past in a couple of repairs, but they were fairly obvious replace a chip type of deal, so any help on this would be really appreciated.
So I managed to pick up two bootleg WWF Superstars bootleg boards, which seem to have similar issues.
Board 1
1. No video output
2. No audio, just a hum/hiss
Board 2
1. No video output
2. Audio, but crackles
So my setup is a SuperGun plugged into a OSSC this is then plugged into a monitor through HDMI. on this I get no video, just the default grey screen, I've messed around with settings (as I've had a couple of boards that altering the OSSC settings resolved) but have had no luck. I also have a Nova Blast so thought to test the board using the inbuilt Jamma connection on this, this got a picture, however;
Board 1
Image displays for a few seconds and goes black for a few seconds.
Board 2
Image displays for a few seconds and goes black for a few seconds. But, this also has some distortion on the image at times, when this shows this is when the audio crackles.
I'm going to have a mess around and see if I can work out the causes, but I'd really appreciate any pointers anyone can offer
