Interest check: I will be building overclock boards for X68000 computers. They are gonna be ~$25 each depending on demand.

10Mhz models like the original, PRO, ACE can be overclocked to 15Mhz. XVI models can be overclocked to 24Mhz.

I need at least 3-4 orders to start production. Please post below if you're interested in getting one. Instructions will be included. Image credits goes to @incrediblehark

I recall hearing that Geograph Seal and Mahou both benefit from as high a clock speed as you can give them but are there any other games that have a noticeable improvement between 16MHz and 24MHz?

I've heard that the unofficial Darius port is kind of slow on stock CPU so that might also benefit from the overclock.

Anyways I'm ordering the PCBs now :D

Hey @ImportantBet sorry I just saw this thread! I ended up giving my overclock board to another X68000 user as I have a few more systems with mpu upgrades and didn’t need this board any more. but I will say these are incredibly easy to install. One note: leave the metal shielding removed to avoid any shorts, it’s not really needed anyway.

I noticed most performance gains from SSF2 and geograph seal, but I’ve also been told mahou and salamander benefit as well, among other games. MIDI may or may not be compatible with the OC depending on your hardware. My board was given to me by cyothevile , so credit to him for hooking me up back then.
Imgur post with my install pics, please excuse my poor soldering abilities:

Everything is assembled and ready to ship. Tested one board on a spare XVI main board with the 48Mhz oscillator and works great on LHES. These are socketed with an 8-DIP so you can easily swap between different oscillators if required in the future.

Final price on the kits is $27 before shipping. This includes the populated PCB, wiring, toggle switch and heat shrink. Further instructions will be provided in PMs.
