What's new
The panel you found is slightly different, those are for public displays, but it might still work with the electronics of the new replacement displays that taito had for sale, not the original one that came in the vewlix.

Darksoft's CPS2 multicart (MvC with matching reproductionartwork) on the Vewlix...

I'm the one that said "Seriously, DONT" and I'm changing my tune after seeing your pics. Here's a Question. The Vewlix F has a near-Lagless Sanwa LCD. Has anyone used a JAMMA kit with it? I'm incredibly tempted to reach out to Taitotech to get one now.

The stock screen of the Vewlix C is very similar to the F, they are both low lag made by Sanwa.

Before I swapped out the old screen for the new I did try the JAMMA kit on it...
The image was just as sharp and clear, but the brightness was lower and the color contrast wasn't as sharp.

I didn't have the SLG3000 at that time, but I suspect it would have made the image too dark on the old screen.
Activating scan-lines dims the picture by almost 50% after all.

what size is the mini poster?
You know I can't remember... I'm 99.9% sure the poster frame its in is a 11x17 if that helps.

My friend has a real, not reproduction MvC poster.
Its the same image, but its freaking huge! Same size as the Capcom vs. SNK2 poster for Naomi.

Looking real good J  . Getting my other C cabs delivered tomorrow, need to replace the screen on one and put it in vertically and install the jamma kit. So this weekend is nothing but working on the Vewlixs. Also, got a little surprise being shipped from Japan, should be here in about 6-8weeks.

Looks good! Glad to see you were able to get the SuperBios cart you were looking for.

Thanks kuze... I'm told we owe you thanks for turning everyone on to the SCSI2SD device too. :)

Hahaha...I only get what's needed, at least that's what I tell the wife. :D

Very interesting and informative thread!

Could someone who has the official TAITO JAMMA kit please share some hires pictures of the PCB ? (should be able to read chip markings)

I would like to determine if they are using frame or line buffers :)

This is the best I can do without removing it from my cab...
Fantastic picture thank you very much, can you tell us what the cancel button/pot is for ?

Are there any manuals/pdf for this PCB ?

Cancel backs you out of menu options, all the screen centering/RGB color options are software controlled...
JAMMA_Scaler-Menu.jpg

It comes with presets for popular boards, CPS2/3 and Neo-Geo also a general reference 15kHz mode...

This is the pin-out of each input, I'm using the stock JAMMA wire harness connecting to V IN...

Thank you for sharing this information.

I suspect the presets are to handle the idiosyncrasies of the various arcade PCBs. For example F2/F3 will not work on a Framemeister without a proper sync regenerator and I am not talking about a sync stripper!

Hi,

so, the taito jvs to jamma adapter handles the upscaling? How difficult do you think it would be to have it working with a naomi?

the Naomi is JVS so no conversion is needed.
I'm not sure if all JVS to JAMMA adapters are cross compatible. I think I read around here namco adapter only works with namco boards.
