Is your cabinet wired up for -5v? MK pcbs need -5v for sound.

Anyone know anything about this system? I have acquired a Konami Keyboardmania that does not boot. Screens show the rainbow scrolling pattern but refuses to boot. Reseated boards, reseated security key, changed batteries on the RTCRAM, still nothing.

So I got my hands on another system 10 pcb, swapped the rom board over, and it’s experiencing the same issues. Swapped the rom (Gekitoride) board over to the old mainboard and it works perfectly fine. I’m assuming the issue is with the rom board.

I actually had this same issue on my conversion. Its the program roms. I ordered a bunch of 4096 en Ebay and when burned they did the exact same thing. I reprogrammed the roms that were originally on the board and they work just fine,

You are right, most people don't. I was not looking for some sort of commercial multi solution, just ideas on a way to make it easier to swap without moving a bunch of chips.

Right now i have U96 socketed, which means i can play both of them by swapping the u96 from KI or KI2 along with the rest of the roms. U96 is normally soldered onto the board, and normally you would need the conversion PCB and roms to play KI2. My thought was to rig up some sort of pcb board...

Are you using the original sega scsi cable? Long cables tend to cause error 26.

I use a product called odoban. Works wonders.

I was getting this error when using a 6 foot scsi cable. Same symptoms, would load several times then reboot with error 21. Make sure your cable is 3 feet or less. I use the monoprice one if that helps.
