What's new
That's a Mini Tower.

Attached I have pictures of the desktop chassis model 740 along with a picture of the front face of the 740 which is inside of my cab. Mine doesn’t have the horizontal disc drives.

Yours is a Desktop Chassis. The difference between DC and SFF is the full sized DVD drive. On the SFF it's just a slot.

Left is Mini Tower, middle is Desktop, right is SFF.

You want the middle one.

Looking for a DT chassis one right now. Having a hard time finding one anywhere with everything specifically that way. Will let you know when I find one.

Hey Nem, been a little while. Just got time to work on this arcade again this weekend. I have received the three download discs for version 3.04 from Raw Thrills (Betson) and have the Dell optiplex 740 desktop version . I downloaded the game on the discs without issue and have power cycled the computer as the discs asked. When I tried to boot up the computer, it gives a message “Error loading operating system” and just does nothing. What do I do here? There is minimal guidance on this from what I’ve found. I tried setting the Bios settings to that which the Tokyo drift conversion cabinet manual says to have them, but it’s not changing anything. So lost on this. I have the PC out of the cabinet hooked up to a monitor and with the security USB dongle plugged in.

I’ve had this issue several times before. You need to make sure the drive is completely wiped. There is a small partition that stays on the drive if it the computer or drive ever had windows installed. I use diskpart to wipe the partitions completely, then run the raw thrills disks again and it should work.

What is diskpart? How do I run it? Do I need to put it onto a disc and put it into the computer? Currently it has no OS on it. Just the game the discs installed.

What is diskpart?

Diskpart is a command line tool in Windows that you can you use to wipe out drives. You have to be careful when using it, because you can easily wipe out the wrong drive.

Open the start menu in Windows and type 'diskpart'.

In diskpart, type 'list disk' to see all of the drives you have connected.

For example, on my computer, disk 0 is my Windows drive, disk 1 is where I have all my files at, and disk 2 is the drive I that have connected that I want to erase. Depending on what connections you're using, the drive you want to erase could be disk 0 too!

Select the drive you want to wipe with 'select disk #', where # is your drive number.

Type 'clean'.

For the record, I'm not sure if this will help you, but it's worth a try.

So I ran DBAN and it worked and I was able to boot the game, but it gets stuck at the security dongle check screen. I have the security dongle for it, but it seems to not be finding it. The screen I get stuck at is shown below and the dongle I am using is shown also. I really don’t wanna buy another one off eBay? Any tips?

It doesn't matter, it won't work. You have a Kit dongle, not the standard parallel port dongle. You need a different set of restore discs. I can upload mine if you want.

@nem i would appreciate it if you could upload yours. They should work with a conversion kit dongle right? I will just need to burn them onto CD’s and run them? Please do so soon so I can work on getting the proper version installed…. What is the version I would need if I have to buy it?

You're using a different computer than before. You need to reinstall the game. I'll have the restore discs uploaded for you later today.

Hello all,

I have had a long year dealing with some things. I've finally gotten some time to come back to this project and try to get the sound working. I am burning the new 1.26k files to a CD now and putting them into the same tower with a different HDD (in case things go wrong, that way I can swap the old HDD with 1.10k back in).

Question though for Nem, I see 1.27U and 1.26K files in the folder you have linked. Do I burn all the files to the disc, or just the 1.26K files?

Best,

Corbin

You burn the 'k' images to discs.

The 'u' images are for a different dongle.
