What's new
This exact thing happened with a Puzzle Fighter board I was trying to buy from them recently. Mysteriously showed up back up a month later with slightly different shots. It sold for a slightly less ridiculous price the second time, but still too much for me, and my bid wasn't conservative either. I wonder if it'll show up again or if somebody actually paid that price...
In my experience, if it isn't up by the next Wednesday (is it Wed for you or Thurs?) when they usually list a ton more, it's gone for good. But since that doesn't track here maybe people caught wise and started complaining and that's why it's been a month in between for this one!

Heads up for Canadian members. I had a learning experience today.

I can only ship Japan Post to Canada. Yamato Express/UPS only ships to Canada for business-to-business use. I asked for clarification if this was some sort of silly leftover Corona rule, but apparently, it was that way before as well. Unfortunately, there is no DHL or FedEx anywhere near me, and they do not service my neighborhood for pickup. Please understand that these services are not really used in Japan by normal people; they mostly only deal with businesses in very urban areas.

Through Japan Post, only EMS and Surface Mail are available to Canada; Air Mail is not offered by them. Unlike Yamato Express/UPS, the price is determined by weight and not size.

For size limit info, please see the following site: https://www.post.japanpost.jp/cgi-kokusai/country.php?cid=37
(In general, 300 cm max, circumference plus longest side measurement system, longest side no more than 150 cm; max 30 kg weight)

Hey all, I need a volunteer with forwarding a package from Joko. If you live near Tri-state area, PM us!! Basically it will go from JP to US (you!) to CA.

Thanks and much appreciated!

^for context. It’s a size 100 package weighing 7.5kg. Japan Post wants to charge almost 3 times what Yamato would have charged (if Yamato had accepted it). His options are getting ripped off or waiting months for surface mail. If you are able to help, the favor will not be forgotten by either of us.

Just a heads up to everyone that Yamato Express finally raised prices after the yen weakened. The raise is about 25% which matches the yen weakening more or less.

They held out for well over a year, so I believe them to be very a solid company; Japan Post raised rates almost immediately by comparison.

Yeah ;( Just sent a package out yesterday to a friend, and price went past 3,000 jpy for what would been about 2500 jpy previously. =(

I found out today. 11850 for something that would have been 8950 just a couple days ago. They waited for quite a while to see if the yen would bounce back though, so I’ll give them that.

Ein packed and ready to go. Thank you Buyee for the box that was twice the size it needed to be. Grandpa’s house here we come!

Finally getting around to posting pics of some recent highlights!

Still a full house right now as a lot is coming. Thank you everyone for your continued support.

Ok was going to use Buyee but I figured shipping was going to cost over double the value of what I was buying. If this service is available I’m ready to order something.

It can really depend on what it is and how much you are shipping. Sometimes I can save you money over Buyee, sometimes I can't. Shipping rates increased by about 35% within the last year more or less matching the devaluation of the yen. Where I can really save you money is when you have multiple items that need to be condensed. Buyee tends to just throw all your small boxes as is into a bigger box (usually TOO big, Amazon style) and call it a day, whereas I'll take everything out and try to get into as small of a package as possible while still being protected.

I'm booked up right now so I'm not taking on any new orders, but please keep an eye out on the first page and on my signature.
