Picked up a haul of various Megatouch IONs from a local vendor. All of them need some work. Decided to do a little impromptu vLOG series of the repair progress.

You can copy all the widescreen settings from the CML to the 'IONMONITOR'.
The IONMONITOR only has 1024x768 in its configs for X, so you get widescreen but bars on 1024x768.
This way you can recycle the vga splitter.

That'd be nice if it worked, but that's what I originally tried doing and it had no effect. Maybe there's a different location/file I need to work with? Otherwise, the only time I saw a difference was when I set "widescreen" to "true" but it made it worse lol. I don't know Linux, and it was a pain to have to use a keyboard/terminal on the Megatouch itself to edit the files, since when I used a virtualbox with the hard drive on my PC, it wouldn't let me edit anything (with everything being read-only).
Oh well, maybe someday I'll get the motivation to tinker with it again, but for now, the janky splitter works
