I decided to make a list of games that i could confirm were available for netbooting on the Sega Naomi system. The aim of this list to to verify and put together a list of verified rom files for net booting games, rename them and make them more user friendly.
I'm not trying to document all the settings, region and IO requirements here, that info is being documented in another thread by twistedsymphony that you can find HERE. If you are wanting to know what IO board works with what game, what region bios etc, check out his spreadsheet.

DISCLAIMER: I didn't create any of these netbootable games. These were created by people much smarter with a far greater understanding of these systems than I have. I've just been testing the available files to verify if they are working or not. With the help of some other nice people as well!

I utilised two lists to create a reference point for all the Sega Naomi games. The work on creating this list was already done for me, and can be found at these two links. Again, not my work here, many many hours of other peoples work, so thanks to them!
https://www.giantbomb.com/sega-naomi/3015-8767/
http://members.iinet.net.au/~lantra9jp1_nbn/gurudumps/naomi/index.html

These were all tested on the following configuration.

- Naomi 2 Motherboard
- Sega JAMMA Io rev b
- 31k mode
- Latest MultiBios with Export region set by default on all games, unless they won't boot then i tried JP region.
- WiPi5 OS on my RPi
- Raspberry Pi v4

Now.. on to the list. The list is split up into 5 sections.

- First Party Cartridge Games
- 3rd Party Cartridge Games
- Namco Games (carts i think)
- GDROM First Party Games
- GDROM 3rd Party Games

The codes next to each game, are the unique codes that came on the rom carts or the GD roms. For the most part each game had it's own unique code, there are some exceptions across revions.. but as a general rule you can tag them with those codes and it fits. Guru's link above has massive amounts of data for these codes.

COLOUR CODING:
- GREEN - Game rom is available and tested confirmed working perfectly without issues and can be played without special IO. If it's green, i've tested it.. twice and it works.
- BLUE - Game rom just needs to be tested on original hardware to confirm 100% that the rom works for netbooting with correct io/hardware/settings.

- ORANGE - Game rom is available but doesn't work or doesn't work properly.
- RED - Game rom is missing
- Pink - These games had a cartridge and a GDROM released version of the same game. If this happened, i assumed the file that i have is the GDROM just because they were easier to get booting. So pink is basically a duplicate of another title, it may not necessarily be the exact same version or region though. Just the same game.

There's an Excel file below with all teh file hashes in it.

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP!!!
1. If you have an original hardware cab of any of the blue games and you can test the rom files and report if they are working or not, that would be great!

2. If you have a working netboot rom of any of the red missing games or the non working ones, feel free to post them or send me a pm and i'll test them and we can add them to the list.

3. If you find any mistakes I've made or just want to contribute some info, please do speak up! I did a lot of testing in a really short period of time so i may have made some mistakes.

HERE'S the link to the files I used for this testing. This link has the individual files, as well as the WiPi ready to go bootable iso images for your Pi. Details are in the readme file inside the folders.

This link also has the Atomiswave games from Mathieuelh's recent update located here. - This is his work, i'm just mirroring the files in this link as well. All credits to him for creating those files. They are included in the individual files and the ready to go packs.
BIOS and Header fixed atomiswave converts

Yeah always nice to have a complete list! Thank you

Great work!
I am happy to test the lightgun games that work with a sega IR setup.

Awesome work!

Any plans to add the Atomiswave line of games since most have a version that has been converted to work with a NetBoot rig?

Awesome work @Murray!

Yes, please add the fixed converted AW games to the line up.

Nice to have the complete list to know what's what.

Thanks Murray for your work.
Hope you can upload the links for the games as I want to diagnose what is wrong with my naomi.
I'm having problems with some of the games.
both atomiswave and naomi games have glitches in the graphics and some games run slow until they are unplayable such as border down and chaos field.
am not sure what is the problem.

yes, looks like a dying/dead ram. Had a similar issue on one of my Naomi 2s. Transplanted some rams from a Naomi 1 over and now it runs great again. You can run a check in the test menu to help identify the bad ram.

yes. there's a hardware fault.
i recapped the whole motherboard with the cap kit from console5 and the same problem occurs.
i ran the ram test as you guys suggested and IC18 is BAD.
i thought i had to buy another Naomi 1. glad that i can fix it and save money.
where can i get the IC18 replacement? i don't have a spare Naomi to scavenge from.
does anybody have any spare replacement? i can buy from you.

Gun Survivor 2: Biohazard - CODE: Veronica - Game just boots to a black screen and nothign else
that ring some bells, this game normally require comm.board, I've disabled that requirement so make sure you use "no comm" patched version unless you have plugged comm.board.

Pinned this one too. Lots of good work on NAOMI going on. Well done guys! :)

but sadly the quality of information if not yet good.
for example most of driving games marked as "require special IO", why ? they pretty fine with common Sega JVS I/Os, but obviously require racing wheel (and often pedals too, and sometimes gear shifter) to play.
or Zombie Revenge - by default game configured to use analog joystick, but you may change it to digital stick in game settings.
or Initial D games - need to disable card reader and optionally motor board in game settings (unless you have these devices)
etc etc etc, there is tons of games marked as "non playable" while they just need some settings tweaks.

also, @Murray which JVS I/O you use ? if Capcom one - this is very bad choice in term of compatibility, many of games will not work with it.

I did some testing this weekend.

Setup used
- Naomi 2 Motherboard with old Multi Bios. Region Export/Japan
- Sega JVS I/O Type 1 in a NUC
- 31k mode
- WiPi5 OS on RPi 3b and the sd card image from the first post

834-13636 The House of the Dead 2 - Works, tested with Sega Gun Setup
840-0001 Dynamite Baseball NAOMI - Works, tested with Baseball Panel
840-0026 The Typing of the Dead - Works, tested with maple adapter and Dreamcast JP Keyboard
GDS-0001 Confidential Mission - Works, tested with Sega Gun Setup
GDS-0008 Monkey Ball - Works, tested with Monkey Ball Panel
GDS-0009 Virtua Golf / Dynamic Golf - Works, tested with Golf Panel
GDS-0010 World Series Baseball / Super Major League - Works, tested with Baseball Panel
GDS-0017 La Keyboard XYU - Works, tested with maple adapter and Dreamcast JP Keyboard
GDS-0018 Lupin the 3rd: The Shooting - Works, tested with Sega Gun Setup, will require a coin meter or the resistors on the coin meter line. Might go to the test menu on first startup
GDS-0021 Lupin the 3rd: The Typing - Works, tested with maple adapter and Dreamcast JP Keyboard
GDS-0022 The Maze of the Kings - Works, tested with Sega Gun Setup

@Murray I'm wondering why you had issues with racing games like Crazy Taxi or Jambo Safari, to my knowledge people played them with no problems. perhaps there is something wrong with your I/O setup ? like missing coin meter spoofing ?

840-0028 Cyber Troopers Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangram (supports VMU) - Game boots and plays fine, you just can't control it because need JVS IO / controls
I'm guessing you either tested using a Capcom IO or a Sega JVS to JAMMA IO in input mode.

VOOT doesn't require a special IO, it DOES however require that the IO board you're using includes outputs for the start lamp.

I would recommend retesting the blue games in your list with a Sega Type 1 IO and I think you'll find that most of them will boot without issue.

You do realize that the big spreadsheet that I created IS a net-boot compatibility list, and includes the information above about IO board compatibility issues with other hardware: NAOMI Net-Boot BIOS and I/O Board Compatibility Chart

Most of the things you're asking for help with here was already solved by the people who contributed to the other list. Why are we creating a new/separate list? Why not just contribute to/build on the existing list?
