yeah the mold is the hardest part. it's also possible that my design is not injection moldable due to certain aspects of the geometry. particularly around the slides for the joycons. Nintendo uses metal slides that screw into the plastic housing, they obviously did this for wear and tear but it's possible that this was also to make it easier to mold.
I'd likely have to modify the design no matter what to add some tapers to the part to allow it to release easily from the mold.
I think it's worth investigating anyway. I know I sell enough GDEMU trays that it might be worth getting those injection molded and it'd be nice to be familiar enough with the process and costs to make an accurate assessment for viability going forward.
