I was surfing youtube and stumbled upon this:

And thought that's pretty cool :)

Then I though OLED sheet would be perfect for this, just cut into the shape and size of your marquee. But OLED sheet isn't easy to come buy in relatively large sizes (not all?) and if it was it would be really expensive.

So maybe a cheap pico/mini beamer would do the trick instead? Dunno if it's feasible though, you need to have the correct throw distance, resolution, lens and suitable screen to project on from the back.

Just a thought,

Aliexpress link, example mini beamer:

100% Original Excelvan Portable Mini LED Projector Cinema Theater PC&Laptop VGA/USB/SD/AV/HDMI Input White

What do you think? Anyone any experience with pico/mini beamers? I haven't.

I like this idea, though I don't think that particular projector would be a good fit.

the laser based pico projectors would be better because they're a lot more compact and they don't require focusing.

I'd love to see something that would allow me a Namco Noir sized marquee "screen" above my Kraylix cab. I've debated buying a 2nd 32" monitor to go up there but if I could discretely project onto a thin piece of plastic it might make for a really cool effect.
