Hi my friends,
Recently i could get with this conversion of daimakaimura, its been converted from a Street Fighter 2 World Warrior.

Bought it as non working but in fact is working.
it shows the game, and the gameplay i think its not corrupt, but displays glitches or misinterpreted ones, no order, a chaos.

Can anyone give some tips what should/ shouldnt try ? i think the dip switches may be also wrong activated.
I very much apreciate any help.

B- board is 90629b-2
C- board is 92631c-6 B21 chip

@caius i wonder if you can help me, i´ve just seing a video of this b-board on youtube.

Reseat your EPROMs and B and C boards to start with. But I'm thinking that's a bad A custom.

Hi @xodaraP thank you for your reply i apreciate it.
I have reseated the eproms but its the same results. I think they guy who sold this to me was trying the conversion but not succeded.
Im wondering if its possible to do it with this b-board. I can try do it myself. have a programmer and the eproms i need. Do you know if its possible?

It is entirely possible as long as you have a working A board, can you confirm that the A board is working correctly by putting a working B and C on it?

Yes, i tested it with a sf2ce, its a working a-board i can confirm. Though i have seen some take consideration if its from a mask rom or jedec type b-board. This one i have what doesnt display jedec, is it mask rom?

When i get back home i can give more details but from the pics i have i can see 27c4002 and i think i remember seeing 27c4096.

In that case the reason it's not working is because the wrong EPROM type has been used. You can see the silkscreen on the board says HN62404 - this is compatible with 27C400 type EPROMs, not 27C4096/4002

You either have to modify the jumpers or replace all EPROMs with 27C400

The correct eproms are being used in the position that they are placed at on this WW board if they are 27C4096's. You can see the stamping where 24 is- it's 27C4096. If you lift up any of your 40 pin chips, 27C4096 will be stamped on the board. My bet is a faulty or incorrect Pal at A1, but what do I know?

I completely missed that. Faulty PAL is possible but usually that causes a working game with everything broken into small blocks.

I'm thinking one or more of the EPROMs are in the wrong place or not working. Or someone has messed with the jumpers and configured it incorrectly

Converting a '90629B-2' or '90629B-3' B-BOARD into Daimakaimura is easy, It's only matter to burn the Resale ROM set from MAME plus an handcrafted GAL16V8 which needs to installed on socket @1A.For graphics you need eight 27C4096, for program ROM two 27c4096, for the audio CPU one 27C010

Equivalent to 27C4096 are also
-Texas Instruments TMS27C240,

-ST M27C4002,

-National NM27C240

-Toshiba TC574200

Anyway, from your picture it seems you installed the GFX EPROMs in wrong sockets.Plus, it seems you kept the original PAL @1A without replacing it with the handcrafted one.

You guys are awesome, i will take all of this into consideration to try to do it myself, at this point i cant really know it its just the eproms, the pal or the kind of eproms, so this you have pointed to me its very handy to start from the beginning. From the resale rom set @caius says, checking the correct type of eproms and sockets for this board as @xodaraP and @Ace`mentioned.
One thing i have doubts is the handcrafted pal. Will that be included in the rom set caius mentions? Or is it something i have to get and work for this specific board?
Thank you all!

I had a quick look, and almost all the gfx chips are 27c4096 but two of them are i think Mitsubishi (?) M5M27c402K, maybe those are not compatible. Also the sound chip is 27c20010 ( not compatible?)

M5M27c402K are same of 27C400 so non-JEDEC 4Mbit EPROMs, they are not good as GFX ROMs in your conversion where you need instead 27C4096 or compatible pin-to-pin ones from the cross reference list I posted.
As for handcrafted PAL, the .JED file is obviously not inlcuded in the MAME Resale ROM set but if you do some search on the net you will find it.

Reporting back from where we left, you have been of great help, this guide is exact ↑

After getting back from home i could spend a few hours whith Gng, i burned roms and gal chips and started swapping them till i found the graphics appeared right.

Everything thing was as you said, thanks @caius I´m very grateful.

I want to resume and add for reference, the sockets and rom numbers that did the job.

Daimakaimura conversion

B-Board: 90629B-2
Jumpers: did not touch them
Dip Switches: did not touch them, theres a datasheet with the combination for these to change difficulty among others ( http://www.arcaderestoration.com/gamedips/2113/Daimakaimura+Japan/Daimakaimura.aspx )
Type of roms and GAL:
- Graphics: (x8) 27C4096 and the equivalents caius named
- Program: (x2) 27C4096 and the equivalents caius named
- Sound: (x1) 27C010
- GAL: (x1) GAL16V8
The romset must be daimakaimura resale version, can be found easily in the net
The GAL i downloaded for this specific b-board (90629B-2) can be found in the net ( thanks again caius )
