He sells them here too, and tbh does a great job from what I hear. I'd recommend buy from him for anything getting shipped out, it'll be a lot faster than mine. Otherwise stools are 2-3 months out from me.

I'm not in a big rush, and it appears that he's closed his fall orders already so I'm guessing it would take just as long ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh gotcha. As a heads-up then, these are probably coming on the second winter container so that it'll be a bit easier for me to ship out. Shoot me a PM, I'll put you guys on the list
 
So for Vewlix panels, which overlays are preferred? My plan now is to order around 30, and have Alberto cut the metal parts for them. I'm just gonna throw out a number like $200 each right now since I don't have all the numbers ready yet. I think getting a repro overlay would be cheaper. Just checking basic interest and hearing some feedback at this phase. When I know what pricing will be, I'll get a hold of everyone individually again and figure out what each of you are getting, then we can take care of any unpaid items on the order.

Specifically to make it a bit easier for me since I'm still relatively new to this stuff, let me know what type of panel you guys are interested in (L, F, FC, etc? idk), and maybe a picture example of what it looks like.

About JAMMA kits, TAITO doesn't sell them anymore, I'm told. @Derick2k expressed interest in making some harnesses for this stuff though. He's also maybe working on another, how to put it, "bright" idea too :) About JVSIO, I think they are also still not available. 2p harnesses, iirc @acblunden2 and @Lemony Vengeance expressed interest in making a batch. I know I'll be interested in a harness adapter for a Brook adapter as well. Any other group part orders anyone want to make? Please suggest it!

EDIT: waiting to hear back on stock, this is what we have to choose from. $125 each (just the overlay)

I asked taito myself, I find it odd the sticker cost as much as the panel 8| . Anyway if I'm not mistaken the panels fits all viewlixes right? The only difference is the overlay. I'm interested in getting a two player panel with the blue diamond overlay but wish it wasn't a 200.
 
Definitely interested in a black 2 player panel and overlay (not sure which type but sure the group has opinions).

Also very much interested to see what the team Derek and Lemony are thinking for harnesses/ios/options when we know.

Vewlix panel overlays have a fancy reflective layer that is apparently difficult to reproduce.

@Cereth is that $125 for the overlay originals?

And you mentioned Alberto, but has he actually finished the Vewlix 2P's? I've asked every few months, including last week and he just glosses over Vewlix inquiries and replies to anything else in the message. The one he'd sent me as a prototype is not quite the same as the original and I'd hesitate to buy those and original overlays without knowing the panel has been updated.
 
If only we could find out who taito uses to make their overlays, at last we could find out the process they use to make them and hopefully we may be able to repro them/make custom overlays.
 
Yeah the FC panel is pretty sexy. Keep the opinions coming, I’ll figure as we go. The alternative is a 3 month lead time for the metal part. Any qualms with Alberto’s panels, let’s figure those out in advance too
 
The process isn't rocket science. You print the overlay in thin layers. Either two or three layers depending on if the overlay uses white. One color layer on clear, one layer on white and one layer is strictly the metallic one.

The other thing I'm thinking while typing this is maybe looking into a thin polycarbonate sticker as opposed to vinyl? Something like the Neo Geo Goldie overlay.

Any chance you can add a few parts for me on that TaitoTech order? I'm looking for these:

E3018350A Joystick Bracket (Need 2)
E5000630A Lock LY-1153 (Need one complete set, which is 5 of these)

@DecepticonZero I don't think anyone was suggesting that it's rocket science so much as no one is doing it. Same thing with E2 side art or NNC art in general.

Edit: I also now see that I specifically said it was difficult. Point was, it's not as simple as the majority of overlays.

I haven't played on a Vewlix in many years so sorry if dumb question, but I remember the quality of the Vewlix overlay compared to the HORI VLX overlay being spot on with of course different dimensions and layout. Do the VLX's not have the same quality of overlay? I have VLX's that I am looking at now but no Vewlix to compare. I guess my point is if they are the same quality there is a chance it is easier to find the secret sauce to how Hori created their overlays for the VLX's than how Taito does it. Or perhaps Taito helped Hori with the overlays. Or perhaps I am dumb and they are not the same quality.
 
whether its a repro overlay or oem id prefer the black option to match the unit...

having this would be in addition to the stock 1p panel right? i would prefer maintaining the ability to switch between 1p and 2p panels
