What's new
Response time (grey to grey or whatever) is not that important, but input lag is :)) (for gamers at least)

I wonder if there exist an arcade monitor with an input lag comparable to my Benq Monitor (i honestly don't think so, no matter how many thousand dollars they cost)

For me PC steam arcade type content.. I was actually looking for something 1440p with Gsync that can fit in a vewlix.. On the FC monitor type X2 games look fine but I was not happy to how PC staff look at the highest resolution.. That is why I got on the new monitor train, 1080p looks good with PC staff. I compared visually the blur and response with a Wii U at 720p.. The FC is very fast, blur is less than the new monitor.

We exchanged conversations on SHMUPS regarding the monitors and staff.. On the DIA what are the lag testing results? Jassin and Derick recorded the results on the FC and new monitor so having the DIA would be great.. At the end of the day I am a user and not an expert and "I just want to play" but if the experts test these staff and say guys this is the monitor that you should buy bases on XYZ.. I do not mind the price if X monitor is as good as it gets currently:)

I feel the same, also a BenQ helps mitigate the lag introduced by the xRGB mini.
I use mine with all my consoles, and would love a huge "arcade sized" equal.

There's the Asus XB321HK.. but it's too PC-ish...

It's IPS (i tend to prefer TN for gaming panels) and is UHD (I prefer 1080p for console/arcade panels)..

did i never send them to you ? Oo

IPS Tech was in the low 10ms and Panasonic was close to 11ms, if i remember correctly.

have posted a guide over at Arcadeotaku that will do the trick in most cases ( also stains, shadows, foggy spots etc.),
Thanks for the guide. I need to do this to 4 screens.

So what would be the ultimate, currently available, replacement panel for these cabs? Regardless of price.

I actually posted Jan's guide on one of my treads here.. I remember a member mentioning that he "need to grow a pair" before trying to referb the monitor in his vewlix.

thanks.. I was trying to get a DIG but KC wanted $3300 shipped so I ended up getting two Ls and replacing the monitor with the new ones.. I call it L 2.0

very welcome.

Probably the Screen from the DIA, if you need 1080p.

But if you ask me , i wouldn`t even think about swaping them unless they are fucked, the Sanwa in the C is a very very good Monitor and without doubt the best 720p Arcade Screen you can get.Refurb and adjust them and simply enjoy them and Vewlix Gameing as it was intended.

please tell me you did not pick up two of These 1500$ from Taito ...

Understood, but what would be your non arcade specific display choice if you had to replace the original one. I am just trying to see what you would pick, are there any real choices out there.

you mean if one of my screens would break down to the point where it is not fixable ?

that is good question. i would check out the samsung professional line, from what i hear they are pretty good and i would try to avoid consumer tvs, not because they are not good, but as i said input select on start up would be a no go for me personaly.

The only thing better about the stock monitor is the refresh. In every other respect the new LCD Trump's it. Yes refresh is important for gaming, but the only factor? Not at all, if I felt that way I wouldnt even have the Vewlix... Rather I'd have some CRT based cab.

it should be superior in every aspect, but it is not. Taito screwed you over.

The main point is that what some call "professional" monitors, are monitors designed to display advertising in a shop window 24/7.

What others call "professional", like for example accurate color correction (broadcast monitors) or professional gaming monitors (I guess we can call "gaming" as a profession nowadays), it's not what we get in the Vewlixes.

well , they lack the tuner of course, usually have analog rgb-in and fixed Inputs and most cases lack the picture optimizer/processing, or atleast give you the Option to turn it off. You will in most cases also have a Image shift Option and a Manual overscan Option.
You will find These displays in hospitals and production lines for example.

But arcade ops don`t care, the cabs are made to generate Money and that is what Counts. So if you can get a plug&play replacement Screen from Taito , they will take it if needed, no matter if it is low tech.

i still wonder why they used Panasonic Screens in the DIA, probably due to nesica and lag reduction. Any idea what Screens are used in the Darius EX Cabs ?

DIA Black btw

Anyone able to tell what game that is? The text in the logo is beyond awful...

@Jan: Please screen cap the page on your computer and post it here or just post the link please so everyone can read the info.

Also, can someone translate what it says below regarding NESiCAxLive?

Thanks.
