What's new
November is getting close! Just ordered this and a Darksoft Multi AES
I was getting excited but I just saw that highscoresaves says they're closed all of November so it looks like they won't ship orders until December? That's a kick in the balls......

We was open also during lockdown in Italy..... always on the first line gainst the enemy...... :)

If they do actually just take off for a month and not ship these preorders, I'm going to be pretty upset. I put that order in right when they began taking them for the most recent batch. That would be beyond irresponsible of them...

See post 1,223, we good.

Hi all.
Just an FYI -

All preorders, and every order placed before 10/31/20, will ship out. We are awaiting the shipment from Darksoft that is expected to arrive in the States and delivered to Highscoresaves on Friday. Worst case is that it will arrive the following week (no fault from anyone except the shipping company ;) )
But, rest assured. all orders will ship out...even if it is after Saturday.

Hope that helps clarify. We have only had 1 email regarding this and it was answered within hours of it being sent...and very glad everyone is seeing the big red banner on the top of the site! Was a little worried about that...

Thanks for the heads up too Darksoft, we received your email! :)

So relax everyone, gaming will still commence even though we will be gone for a bit...
Appreciate it!

Is installation different for the CE version?

Also, is the key writing board necessary for the installation?

@djsheep knows the cartridge very well and I'm sure that his guide will be very helpful to troubleshoot any issue that you may have.

I have updated the first post with the Installation Instructions and Multi overview. It's v1 and will be updated with new info from @djsheep

Was finally able to set up Darksoft Champion Edition after trying on a problematic board. I was still having some issues for some reason but then it magically worked. I also realized that the LCD must be plugged in before turning on or it won't work properly.

I'm super happy with the setup and forgot about a lot of these games that I used to play in the arcade. Props to the team who put this together and a big thank you for making this hobby easier and cheapER!

While the setup was easy, the instructions definitely need an update and some better pictures. Some suggestions for improvement:
  • Step 1 of multi-installation: Have an overhead picture of how the board should oriented. The side view, while somewhat useful, is less useful than actually showing where and what direction the board should plug in
  • Step 2: minor update to no longer need screws
  • Step 3: more intuitive since the larger board can only go in one place, but overhead shot would still be useful.
  • Step 5: is a little confusing because it shows 6 wires connected for key writing when only 4 are needed.
  • Additional soldering instructions: it would be easier to follow if the pictures showed the same wire colors from the JST to CN2. I know there's a reference mapping above, but it would be clearer/easier to follow with same color wires in both pictures.
That's it for my suggestions. Thanks again!

EDIT: Who sells those nice labels for the case? I'd like to get one! Thanks in advance!

Only 4 wires are needed but the idea is to use a 6 pin to 6 pin connector for ease of installation
