Cps2 Case problem

Hi,

This is probably the biggest noob problem ever but I’m having a problem with taking the case off of my Cps2 b board. I’ve taken all four screws out of the bottom and when I go to pop the case off I can only get the top side closest to the label popped off. The bottom half of the case will not separate and something is definitely holding it. It feels like I would snap something if I pulled really hard and I didn’t want to take that risk. I watched some YouTube videos of people taking the cases off and they all came off really easily. This is my first board and it’s a Rockman 2 so I really don’t want to break it. What should I do?

Quick update. I watched another video where there was a situation where the case was a little difficult to remove. I was able to take my case off, however, I found that there are little black snap clips on the black part of the case that help lock the top part down. Sadly one of them snapped off. Do those often snap off? Also i am going to do some research but what’s the best method for changing a battery? My battery looks like it is from the factory, its a red battery. But if anyone can direct me to a thread that has the best method for changing a battery please show me. I don’t want this to explode. I’m going to try to find a trashy board to practice on, I don’t want to ruin rare boards.

I don’t know if you can find parts for a keystone battery mod kit anymore (http://tjaberg.com/cps2_battery/index.htm), but that lets you change the battery more easily in the future. But honestly - infinikey and be done with it!

I’m probably going to go with the Infinikey. It’s better for the board, I’m not messing with it and I’ll never have to worry about a battery leaking. Which is my biggest fear. I just need to buy one and figure out the correct codes for a Rockman 2.

I need a few things first. I need an A board, ha. I’m still a pretty big noob when it comes to arcades. I know how rare this board is and I wanted to get it when I had the chance. If anyone has a really nice condition A board for sale let me know. I’m in contact with someone who has one but I’m always looking for the best one I can find. I’m also looking for any scrap boards or broken boards, I want to learn the boards better so I’m not scared to work on them. I don’t want to break this Rockman 😬. Thanks for all the help!
