That is correct JTAG does not do the sound ROMs.

However I am not aware of any tools to manipulate the sound ROMs so I suspect that they are unmodified.

good game :)

Brutal though -_-
Good thing MetalliC's blitter hack works amazing for this game as well. Very close to pcb with the right tweaks.

Happy NOOB year!! Dump is available for all :)

SADLY .... Some hypocritical asshole called SHOUTIME has caused a stir on MAMEDEV to get it removed:

https://github.com/mamedev/mame/commit/54899379258a7266db8d5bc6cda8b48169e67503

Remember SHOUTIME DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, ROM DUMPS OR THE ARCADE COMMUNITY
DON'T FEED THE DOGS!!!!

PS.
I know some of you on here "WORK" for this asshole, after being poached by him FROM the mame team.

WHAT A JOKE OF A SITUATION.

SCREENSHOT OF THIS POST TAKEN ALSO IN CASE REMOVED BY ONE OF HIS CRONIES / CREW ...

10 years and what ? if you married (over) 10 years don't you mind if random people will fuck your wife ? ;) it is "dead horse" already! :D
(I'm just trying to say: these games are theirs intellectual property, even if they are 10yr old, same as your wife still your wife even if you married 10 or 20 or more years ;) )

in general, you or anyone else may do the same as Exa - buy rights for some games from Cave, and then do what you want - give away teh ROMs for community, develop PC ports for free or whatever

I mean... I assume you can still just rename any roms into some other cv1k-d game that's supported still and play it (dfk, dfkbl, dsmbl, probably something else I'm forgetting)

Seems weird for exA to act on Caves behalf on this tbh, but I guess I don't know the story in terms of rights for the games.

I do not let others fuck my Cave cardboard box.

They sent a C and D regarding the source code in mame mentioning the roms... this is garbage, if they are not distributing them then it is arguable any actual infringement was done in the MAME code.

https://forums.bannister.org/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=120280#Post120280

This is hypocritical bullshit given who it's coming from IMO. Anyone can send a cease and desist you don't even need a leg to stand on (I'm not saying ExA doesn't). Are they within their rights to do it? Sure. Will it probably have the Streisand effect? I can only hope.

it doesn't matter.
MAME always had position like: any developer may ask as to (temporary) remove some game(s), if they think it may harm theirs business somehow.
it is not a matter of legal threat or anything like that, but a good will.

That's fair enough I guess. I come from years of handling copyright disputes in the legal dept of a web hosting company. So if it's good will that I can understand, I was more saying that MAME probably did nothing wrong (unless the existence of the dumping union itself removes plausible deniability).

It is unfortunate IMO though that MAME has to do this when legally they likely did nothing wrong, but avoiding court at all costs is never a bad strategy for an open source community, up to a point anyway.

I do wonder if it's more of a Cave thing than an exA thing. You would think exA would have pulled P-47 Aces while they were at it.

Or maybe it's some weird pissing contest between people considering the SDOJ dump came from outside the 'inner' circle.

Anyway, the dump is out there (thank you, xiongteam) and easy enough to run, so mission accomplished.

Give the people to support the real developers for a real dump of something and they will do it.
Many got the ironclad wii port AFTER enjoying it on MVS.

You seem to think i am some kind of "free gamez" kid but i own the REAL hardware for the stuff i enjoy, here i have well over 300 PCB's....
To me , archiving them is important for repairs and to get a good bit of fun out of 10-30 Years old hardware with it's software lineup before it bites the dust.

Emulation was always a nice side effect and a way to test the files, along with documenting the hardware.
This leads to the next argument that MAME only had the INFO and not the DATA , this has always been the way.

Well , in this case it's more of a pimp and a ho' situation. At some point it's time to give her retirement.

then I don’t understand what makes you not happy :S all the "INFO" still there, but just commented out

The issue is with the action , the hypocrisy of it all.
Shoutime may of been on the mame side once or thrown the odd scraps but overall since the Arcadia thing begun the bullshit started.

The joke of the bootlegs first and the clean version being withheld, same as some recent sega's and not so recent ATOMISWAVE stuff.

Atomiswave Another that's been hoarded for years by the usual with hacked versions doing the rounds and the legit versions still in the hoarders limbo.

Until some random gets a legit , dumps it and causes the hoarders some upset.
I am quite sure most games including proto's had a run of more than 1 piece in most cases, it's only a matter of time before they are unearthed.

Hell look at that bubble bobble that guy in mexico was being an arse with years ago, a legend in Portugal found 3 of them and it was dumped and done lol.

The Rabbit proto I dumped was another one, shoutime had the files on hand , just his friend slipped up and sold the set on a dead board ..... :P

Ah, so do I understand then that if the lines were commented out, and this somehow satisfies the demand, then the compiled MAME download would not support it. But could someone not uncomment and compile? And if so, then either the text should theoretically be removed (which I'm not in favor of if that's not clear lol), or, the text itself is admittedly not infringing (in my opinion having handled countless IP dispures, it is not).

That aside IMHO it's just a poor move especially if they do stand to profit off a newer version (I would love to see those damages $$ quantified). I'm a big fan of the try before you buy mentality. I buy hardly any physical music or games I can't preview. Without YouTube I probably wouldn't have most of my vinyl collection; the labels that have stuff pulled I usually don't buy from. Just my 2c.
