Taito Vewlix Repro LED Marquee Light PCBs

Hmmmm. Should I do a preorder thread separate from this one to keep things tidy? and keep this one for future updates on whats next??

Unless someone wants to handle sales of these?

Handle sales as in keep a list for you? Or actually logistics of taking money and creating shipping lables?

If it’s just paperwork bookkeeping I can do that for you.

I don't want to clutter your pre-order thread with a side conversation, but I know you said you've experimented with different side-lit acrylics. Do you have any thoughts on sourcing any of them? I've never been able to find a way to buy small amounts of EndLighten for instance.

If you have a stock marquee that's scratched up, or a repro that's standard acrylic you might want to get a nice new one made that lights up nice. I know mine are standard acrylic repros because I made them myself. :P

This lighting system looks awesome! But I know it would look way nicer if I could make better marquees to light up.

Let me go back and check through my orders and I'll pm you about it. I have no idea how they are working now, things have changed since covid hit.

I was able to order smaller precut pieces instead of a 4' x 8] piece and then finish them off with the laser, to see how it went, but then I had them professionally done at a plastics shop since the front piece was not rigid, and the main piece needed the stopper glued onto the bottom to hold the art in place etc. If you have the originals you know what I mean.

My laser is big enough for it, but I'd need to source the proper acrylic.
Im checking for you, they took out the option to purchase precut pieces from their US site. Im checking to see where else to get them.

Also, did you say there was going to be bottom leds to light up the bottom acrylic too?
Working on it, just slightly more complicated since it requires more resistors, connectors. So it gets a little congested, also need to check on the heat that's being dissipated so there are a few little details to iron out. But Im actively working on it, I dont want these things to die out/burn etc.. Im sure taito cut that option out as cost cutting decision and not that it wouldn't work. So the ones with the bottom leds will happen just not in this current batch. I need to test the crap out of the ones with the bottom leds over some time, so will have to send some to some people that might want to test them.

So this is how its looking, at least for the right hand PCB with rgb.
We are adding 44 more leds, more resistors, more traces, more power usage/heat.
So I need to test these well before I offer these up. But they are happening. I also want to test these up with a few different controllers, would you guys like the ones with rf remotes or via bluetooth?

Also, these add to the cost as they are dual sided assembly, more components, and its longer time to get them fabbed, right now its about 6 weeks, I have tried with a few fab places and its all about time at least.
