I had at least 3 times in which I had audio noise in the HDMI signal using this kit and ended up cutting WS and DAT and hand wiring it to get rid of the noise, not sure if it was isolated case.

To be clear you mean VGP/Lovegood’s kit right? I wonder if it is related to the trace routing path for WS and DAT. I heard that you also had issues with the audio cutting out as well. Is that true?

I have heard of a few other people having issues with that kit at one point or another. I don’t know if there was a bad batch at some point or what. I can’t imagine that VGP would continue to sell it if there were continued issues but I don’t know.

I'm Matt from VGP, a customer recently pointed me towards this thread. I've been waiting on Lovegood for some time for the kits but I guess they're having some issues as they stopped returning my messages.

I've added an option on my store so you can buy the board pre-flashed with CPS3 firmware and no fitting kit. I'd also be happy to carry the @djanice1980 installation kits too if thats something you would be interested in?

I have been wanting to do that myself. Got the pcb's and most of the components. Only issue I have is the darn audio chip. I am thinking of pulling it off an original DC Digital Kit I have.

I am waiting on my board to arrive and then I can post install pics.
Hopefully soon. Once again, thanks for filling a void and recreating this qsb.
I did tell him to reach out to you. So he may be interested in a bulk buy so he can package it with the boards since lovegood left him in the lurch.
100% having hdmi makes it acceptable for portable use for normies at get togethers. We are the few and the chosen.
Most people wilt at even the thought of hooking up an arcade board to their tv.
I wish I could contribute more. My time is very limited. I try to contribute where I can thru connections and clarifying/helping people into the hobby.
 
That looks like a CPS2 I/o interface. it just works with the CPS3 as well? also whats that little dongle there?
