APOCALYPSE Collectors Ed. Now Available!: Apocalypse's First Console Product---The MarkMaster

So I won't need to do anything? My adapter is #18. I opened it up and it looks like this. Also I can't get Hokuto no Ken, The Ninja, Ashura to work. I know my carts run fine on my Japanese MK-2000 Master System. For some reason they will not work on my Master System II with the adapter.

Yeah your cart was the first sold with the fix. Let me see what Apocalypse thinks about those games. Do you have other games that ARE working?

I have Rygar, Fantasy Zone, Fantasy Zone II, Space Harrier, Aleste, Shinobi. The all work. My SG-1000 carts Pacar, Safari Hunting, Pop Flamer, Sega Flipper, and Girl's Garden they all turn on just fine. What I would love to know is if a SG-1000 card catcher will work on a SMS II with that. I got a bunch of SG-1000 and Mark III cards. Still need to find a card catcher.

I posted a little video on my YouTube channel. Gave you a shout out. :)

Yes. Card catcher will work.

One simple thing to try is to insert the adapter and cart then pull up on it a mm. We didn't have a ton of original carts to test on the adapter but it's possible to improve compatibility even further!

Does anyone know how to open these carts? Pcb pictures of your not-booting would help us improve the adapter!

Really cool device!

I would assume this would allow JP games that support FM to be used on a US SMS that has the etim SMS FM mod?

I just scored the reissue of PS1 on Mega Drive, which is supposed to just be the Mark III PS1 ROM with a MIII->MD converter inside the cart.

Once I get it, I'm hoping that's the case, so I was wondering if I could use this converter to play JP PS1 with FM sound on my US FM-modded SMS.

I don't see why it'd be a problem but I thought I'd ask before buying one of these!

It should not be a problem as long as your JP PS1 is an original MIII cark and not the megadrive remake.

Oh shit, I always thought the MD reissue was a Mark III ROM and board but with a converter board inside, like US early Gyromite.

I found some pics online and the PS1 MD is a weird one-off board with the power-base chip on it. Oh well. Thanks! I bought a SMS Monopoly and will try to put the PS1 retranslation on that like this dude on reddit did. Thanks for the answer!
