Sega NAOMI ATX power supply recommendations?

im going to throw it out there, even though i might get some hate. I bought mine off yaton and recapped it. it works great. run my net dimm off it.

side note he is skiddish. Not trying to vouch for him, but he is usually ok for small things. I wouldn't risk anything to big.

Any modern PSU will be way more than capable of running a Naomi and any peripherals you add to it. Even a used one out of an old computer will be fine, or you can buy the cheapest decent PSU you can find. I have a small ~160W mini PSU I picked up in Japan, and it works fine.

I've used @invzim 's adaptor cables and I've built my own for custom applications. It's easy stuff.

I have a 15 years old atx ps from FSP comapny with 450 watt, works with no probs with naomi 1 and 2. Both with Netdimm and a china atx to naomi adapter

I've heard of specific PSU's having voltage issues with the NAOMI, think you can shoot me a link to this PSU?

These are the china atx to naomi adapter

And yeah i was lying, its max out 350. :-P

Anyone had issues with these same specs on another psu, and when yes, which issues do you hav?

Not now, you put the cables from atx in the Adapter, and then the cables from the adapter into naomi.

... Can do nothing wrong

@NewVegasBlues - I suspect you're overthinking this. Modern PSUs are, as a rule, more precise and more powerful than anything produced 30 years ago. Plug n play adaptors exist for them, and it's incredibly unlikely you'll end up with some combination of weird ones that fail to work.

I definitely understand the concern, but in this situation I wouldn't at all be worried about grabbing any PSU that's pretty enough for the job and plugging it in with the nearest adaptor cable.

Look at the rail voltage.
Naomi pulls weird amounts and loads the rails odd.
So if your chosen psu doesn't like that it won't work well.
I used rma open box corsairs from 2 generations ago off ebay.
They work fine. Think I spent about $50 each and they were 750's.

Alrighty! I'll settle with a Corsair RM750e, I think that'll suit my needs well enough.

I checked the volts too cause i had other problems and checked it with a voltmeter. It was strikt over 3,3v, 5v and 12v.

A cheapy voltmeter is enough, you can buy one for 10buggs
