Plan B completely failed. Plan A can run Fate Unlimited Codes, but cannot run other games. Has anyone tested Plan C?

I have tried but it doesn't work. IIRC those adapters don't allow for the ATA/ATAPI commands to function correctly...
 
Plan C might work but it depends strongly on the adapter being used. Do we know if the original HDD is in master or slave configuration ?

CD/DVD games cant be booted off hard disk/ssd or even cf as of now, I believe they are cable select like the HDDs
 
Correct, the drives are set to cable select. It's an 80 conductor ultra DMA cable and pin 28 on the IDE connector is grounded, so the drives are in master configuration.

The interface only supports PIO and MDMA/MWDMA. It does not support UDMA.

So a possible reason why it may not be compatible is the device doesn't support MWDMA, but I would need to probe at the device to figure out if that is the actual reason

Thank you for the picture, it does not really tell us anything. To get to the bottom of this we probably need to look at the device characteristics on your CF card.

Lol its like these cards have secrets to hide, lmk what I gotta do and I will once I'm finished some school stuff!
 
That should work if the CF is connected to an IDE/SATA controller but not if its a USB interface behind it.
 
Sounds good will take a look soon, do you just want the CF properties from file explorer or device manager?
 
Has anyone tested other games successfully?
For example, Tekken 4, Tekken 5
